If I may provide some input with no bias towards either the members of this forum, members of your faith OR towards fans of the TV show in general,

I am Adam Ketcheson, a seventeen year old Canadian male. I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Now, I urge you to continue reading; you will see that I'm not going to attack anyone nor am I going to be biased towards the show I watch. I'm simply here to provide some input regarding the topic.

I have read the original post in depth and have come to a conclusion on all of the topics that have been brought up within it. Allow me to touch on them, again without bias, if I may. The information I provide here is taken completely from factual information and is to be interpreted as you wish. I urge you not to conform to my ideologies, but simply to read them and evaluate them. I also urge you not to reject them outright for they're not in malicious intent towards anyone here nor are they flawed or modified as a result of any external influence. They have been formed by an individual, myself, after research and evaluation of several sources.


1: Homosexuality

I understand that in your faith, homosexuality is a sin. I will not question your beliefs, for they have been adopted by you in good faith to your religion and it is up to you to choose what you feel is right. I will not infringe upon them either.

The character in question. Her name is Rainbow Dash, a female pony who tends to a few aspects of nature within the show. Her area of work is typically with clouds. She is one of the main characters in the show and plays an important role in the adventures of the characters portrayed. Rainbow Dash's color scheme is meant to reflect her duties in the sky. She clears the way for the sun to shine down on the land, so that the ponies in the show may live in a bright environment. The rainbows are intended not to encourage homosexuality in any way. I feel that an intention like this would not appear in a show intended for children; I sincerely doubt that something of that nature would successfully appear on television. Rainbows are a part of nature, they appear after it rains as a result of the sun's rays shining down into the moisture into the air through clouds. Then again, rainbows are also real. The intention with her colors are not to imply any sort of homosexuality, but to reflect her character herself, and how she works with clouds.

2. Wicca and Occultism

The characters in question here are Twilight Sparkle, the unicorn, and Spike the dragon. Spike is a baby, and is sent with Twilight to make friends and learn about friendship. Twilight Sparkle is a scholar. Again, her color scheme is meant to reflect her name; Twilight. Her character plays a close role intertwined with that of the princess in the show, Celestia. I feel that there is no intent of wiccan implication nor is there that of occultism, seeing as she is closely related with someone who is good-natured. As well, the magic that she possesses is shared between all unicorns in the show, who use it for good rather than evil, with the exception of one unicorn by the name of Trixie, who is exiled rather quickly.

3. Furries and/or Bestiality

The people portrayed in this image are not the majority of the fanbase, by any means. In fact, many fans of the show consider people who do this to be overzealous and plain crazy. I assume that the original poster also sees this; In that aspect, I will agree with you. That being said, many people do perform costume roleplay, frequently shortened to cosplay, as a fun hobby rather than a ritualistic sexual experience. I will also touch on the sexual aspects presented in the original post here. The first character, the black alicorn with the moon, is named Nightmare Moon. She is originally a malevolent character, but does change her heart and become a good-willed character after the six main characters change her ways. The other images, including the white unicorn Rarity, the yellow pegasus pony Fluttershy, and again Twilight Sparkle, show rear ends, yes. That being said, this kind of content is shown in numerous other outlets. This is not intended to be sexual in any way, rather, it is meant as humorous content by the show's creators. I have had the opportunity to talk to Andrea Libman, the voice actor for Fluttershy, as well as Tara Strong, the voice actor for Twilight Sparkle, in person. I took the opportunity to ask them about these portrayals in the show, and both of them said that it was in harmless fun and humor. There is no intent here to convert people to sex addicts as quoted by the people who make this show itself.

In regards to the creepy last image, that's just wrong in my opinion. Whoever is wearing that should be shot.

Now, if I may, allow me to tell you about myself. I am a fan of the show. I am a male, yes, and I am seventeen. That being said, I am also a good-willed and contributing member of society I work hard, I respect my peers and my elders, and I treat everyone with kindness and respect. It's love, really. The show has not imposed any sort of dark or bad intentions into my lifestyle. I really do think that something like this should not be taken out of context.

Trust me, I have seen many other things that do deserve this kind of treatment, but a children's show is simply not one of them. I'm sorry. I'm not only talking to the original poster here, but to everyone who creates sexual or pornographic images based on this show itself. That's just wrong too.

Again, I mean no disrespect to anyone here on this forum. I'm simply providing my input as based off of my own research and experiences. I'm certain that there are other people who would agree with me. I'm certain there are others who would agree with you. I just thought I would provide some insight from someone who has extensive experience with the show itself.
