    Hello

Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

I am a person who lives on Earth, a sinner in need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ who died for my sins and rose again, defeating death and sin and hence closing the gap which fell between God and us as a result of sin.

    I go to Saddleback.

I found Jesus when I was in first grade, close to 25 years ago at a revival tent.

Without Christ to bring me through immeasurable pain and suffering, including literally being locked in a cage in the basement, neglect (being locked away by myself for years, often without food), horrible abuse, enduring horrific things, and subsequent abandonment (twice), and then growing up in orphanages until aging out of the system -- I would not be here today without Christ to bring me through.

So there is a little about me.
    Proverbs 6
[16] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

    Welcome xbt

Not knowing of Saddleback Church, I looked it up. Is it Baptist?
I did note with concern that they have an HIV-AIDS support group, but no gaysexural conversion courses.

Your childhood sounds dreadful. Were you parents atheists or were they pagans/witches?

      Re: Hello

      Good Lord.

What did you do to make Jesus send such calamity into your life?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

      YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Why are you whining about your childhood, then? Did Job whine when God made him sick, killed all his family, and took all of his wealth just for entretainment (Job 1:8-10, Job 2:3-7)? No. Job still praised God.

We never know why God makes us suffer. Maybe it's a punishment for your parents' sins (Exodus 20:5), but maybe God just wanted to make you suffer for fun, just like He did with Job. Either way, you still should be grateful. It could have been even worse, you know.

              Re: Hello

Indeed, what's with all this complaining? Sounds to me like you had a perfectly normal childhood in a Christian home. As for being "abandoned," I suspect your father felt you were 13, and therefore an adult, and it was time for you to go out into the world and earn your own living and start a family. Nothing wrong with that.
