Did Jim Jones do the right thing?

I've always thought that Jim Jones gets portrayed in a very bad way.

I think this is unfair, Jim Jones was a great man, even though he allowed too much diversity in his church (He should only have allowed white straight people). He preached the way to salvation, he had the right ideals, and only believed in the enternal love of God and Jesus.

In his time, he did a lot of good things. He brought people together, he spread the word to all the lost souls of the world.

As he brought people from all over USA to the Peoples Temple in Jonestown, he built a great and beautiful religious community.

But to all great places, there are going to be envious people, who can't join.

Congressman Leo Ryan wanted to go to Jonestown, and try do falsely expose Jim Jones as a psychopath and a fanatic, with no proof at all.

I believe that Jim Jones was right to order the murder of Leo Ryan, he was an envious person, a envy is a sin, and should be punished, furthermore Ryan was a Democrat, so nobody is going to miss him anyway.
All Jim Jones did, was protect his church and all the true believers in god, and nobody should try to hurt true believers, or they should pay the price.

When Jim Jones decided it was time for his followers of the church to enter into the next world. I believe he had an epiphany and saw god and heaven.
He wanted to go to heaven, and wanted to take all his children of his church to heaven with him.

Even though a mass suicide of 909 people may seem extreme, and some people go as far as calling it "wrong" and "insane" , I believe that the suicide of these people, was an act of god though Jim Jones. To show the world, that if you believe in god, you would be able to give your life for him.

This is also why i believe Anders Breivik did a beautiful thing, and he should be praised as our modern day savoiur.

I live in Denmark , and here i teach my children the way of Jim Jones and try to spread the goodness that was in him

He is my ultimate idol, and if i could, i would follow in his footsteps.

Love for all the true believers in the World (Mostly USA and Northern Europe)

    Hi, heathen.

Not only can you not capitalize GOD in a sentence, but you also failed to follow any of the introductory thread guidelines.

What Church you go to, how you found JESUS, and favorite Bible verse.

I hear the Lake of Fire is pretty warm this time of year, LOL.

    Walking with Christ,

Re: Did Jim Jones do the right thing?

Isaac was willing to kill his own son because he heard the voice of God.

Jin Jones did the same thing times 913, which would seem praiseworthy, But the difference is that Isaac was a True Christian™, whereas Jim Jones was not. Such a pity, because Jim sure did have faith. He would have been a great member of our flock, had he not gone astray.

Was Jim Jones just crazy? No, this whole idea of crazy people hearing voices is just liberal-bias psychologists trying to hide evidence of the LORD acting in our lives.

When God told Jim Jones to kill his flock, He didn't do it to test Jim's faith, He did it because He wanted to kill some heathens. Maybe He was out of lightning bolts that day.

Then you will burn in Hell. Jesus Christ should be your ultimate idol!

The Bible teaches us you should hate everyone, including your parents, your wife, your children and even yourself. You should only love Jesus!

Luke 14:26 "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."

This is the worst introduction I've ever read. If you're done trying to suck people into your cult, how about telling us which Moonie "church" you attend, how many kids you have, what your favorite Bible verse is, and where you shop for hunting rifles?

Not much in the way of an introduction... I do not have high hopes for this child
I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen

Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
            Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

They left God's favorite Country to pray to God? Probably not.
These people were hippies who wanted to smoke mariuhana all day and have sex outside marriage. Jonestown was their name for it. I would call it Sodom and Gomorrah Town.
