I'm sorry about being sarcastic at times. I know that you don't deserve it. In piecing together the bits of your history that I have, in some ways I can see why you care (even if I don't always make it easy). I don't know what it was that hurt you, but I'm very sorry that you were hurt. No one deserves to be hurt.

I'm generally used to being the one that does the reads people, not the one that is being read. It's a bit uncomfortable knowing that there are other people that can read me.

If (or when) I do get to the point that I agree with you, what happens? Do I get tossed away because I'm no longer a concern? I generally don't like people, but I find you (and this group) interesting; and I do enjoy talking to you.

Either way, I'm sorry for being a jerk.

Apologize to Jesus, miss. Drop to your knees and BEG HIM to fill your mouth with the Holy Spirit! The alternative is eternal hellfire.

I'm sorry, but wasn't it supposed to be my heart that should be filled with the Holy Spirit?

OK, now we are just talking past each other. I was talking about the supposed existence of a supernatural realm which cannot be proven nor disproved because it lies entirely in the domain of beliefs and not factual evidence -- otherwise it would be just part of the natural world. You seem to think about stuff that seems to be impossible to accomplish for people with insufficient knowledge of science/technology.

I'm not real sure, it's just always been something that has held my interest.
Feel free to spend your time however you wish. I prefer to concentrate on issues I can actually know and/or change.

I like that comparison. Does the Shaman not really see or not really understand what's out there.
My point is that there is nothing "out there." You see what you are conditioned to see either by your own life history or by your spiritual mentor(s).

Although in some ways it might not really matter at that point. Maybe its the path and not the destination that's important. But even if the novice doesn't see what's out there, the symbolism becomes important for his (or her) life's journey.
I'm really trying to mince my words to not appear rude, but sometimes bull***t is just bull***t. I was really hoping that we could have a conversation not filled with random New-Age woo. I've had enough of these in my life already.

It's sort of like having a group of people try to interpret what a picture means. You will probably get mostly different answers (based on personal experiences), but those different answers are still important in understanding the individual.
I have highlighted where you gave yourself an answer why studying religious experience tells us nothing at all about the supposed supernatural.

I don't see it as always being a bad thing, although I agree that it can be.
Look, if you think that cheating yourself is a good thing, then go ahead and believe in every aspect of every religion, either ancient or recently made-up that makes you feel better. I suppose it's good that you at least realize that you're cheating yourself. It's somewhat better than millions of people who think all that crap is for real.

I see where your coming from, and I agree that in having to take the Bible literally that it is not the best moral guide.
The problem is that once you decide not to take it literally, you undermine its significance entirely. Why take any of it seriously if you have to pick and choose what you like based on your moral standards of the day?

I guess the sticking point for me is that I'm not Christian, my beliefs are a lot closer to what is found in Wicca.
Seriously? You prefer a recently made-up steaming pile of... random stuff over religions that at least have the breath of antiquity to give them some appearance of authenticity?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Hey lady, regardless that I may find you smarter than the average space taker that comes in here, I think you think too highly of yourself. Nobody really cares what you believe in, if it isn't God. Nobody really cares about your past or your touchy feely philosophies. All we true Christians™ care about is delivering another heathen to God. You've spent hours upon hours in here obviously starving for some kind of intelligent conversation that is very clearly not available to you at home. If it was you wouldn't be here at the drop of a hat every time your thread has a new post added.

I don't know exactly what happened to you as a child although I suspect the typical crap, rape, molestation, violence, death etc. I don't exactly know whats going on in your current life although I suspect doubt.
You're not teaching us anything. We have a forum of Psychologists, Theologians, Doctors, Lawyers, Mayors, Creation Scientists, Teachers, Baraminologists and Professors of everything which way but loose, actually probably that too. My point is, you're making us yawn.

I am not suggesting you leave, just STFU and get real. It's getting monotonous. This is NOT a cafe for beatnicks to sit around shooting up marijuanas and discussing far out narley interpretations of life. This isn't a dating site, it's not facebook, it's not a support group for women with crippled husbands and downs syndrome kids, it is a Christian forum. The Christian Forum, Gods own favorite.

I tell you what, I have a new found respect for Dolores even though I already respected our Sister.. I literally would of blown my brains out by now.
Get with the program girly, get saved already. I for one personally want to witness this happen. Jesus needs you and so do we.

            Brother BAW

P.S. If you really wanted to learn like I am sure you stated you did somewhere in this wall of self indulgence, you would be out reading and commenting on other threads here rather than self serving your own interests.

            Love you!

I apologize for having lost my cool. When I said "bull***t" what I really meant was that expressions such as "life is a journey" had already been already considered cliché for a long time when Gilgamesh was first written down.

I feel honored, even though I still lack the faith necessary to be Saved.

I can spot a believer when I see one even if you can't.

Looks like your post worked, Brother BAW - it seems like our dear Solanum tuberosum has finally decided to stop trying to bore us to death by repeating the same false statements and dumb questions over and over and over again.

                    Halo Sister Basilissa

She'll come back, I would say she is in deep thought. However if she chose to take offence, which was not my intention (maybe) then so be it. Gods Will not mine.
