Re: Hi
Well dear, you're not the first soul-infested teen to try and infiltrate our sanctified fellowship circle. Your user name proposes the idea that you think Christianity is a belief system for insane people, and yet you profess to be a believer as well. Let me guess, you believe only the [quote] sane [end quote] parts of the Holy Bible? My question to you would be, by what standard do you determine which parts are sane and which lack sanity? In other words, by whose authority do you dismiss the Holy Word of God? If you truly believed, why don't you pray for healing and be healed (James 5:15)? Jesus promises to heal those who ask in righteousness (James 5:16).
Actually, save your words. Your paltry excuses are of no interest here. I know what it is that stumps you. Like so many of your kind, young, impertinent, impulsive, dependent upon evidence like so many little coins to spend for fleeting pleasure, you are addicted to sin. My advice to you is to get to your bedside drawer, you know the one I'm talking about, and take those toys out and Destroy Them! Take your father's hammer and Smash Them! Put them under the car and Drive Over Them! Burn Them! Don't just throw them out, dear. Take them out and Destroy Them! They are the Tools Satan is using to get to your soul! Straight through your sin-hole! What you think to be pleasure is really the opening of a gateway straight into HELL and you're inviting Satan's Demons into your soul, into your Home through what should be reserved for Jesus and your husband alone to sanctify you in redemption of your many, disgusting sins (1 Timothy 2:14-15)! It's not too late, dear! I implore you! Destroy Them Now! Trust in the Goodness of the Lord Christ Jesus Alone To give your life meaning!Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Remember, I'm still figuring out what my religion is...
It sure is. Love for God and His commandments (and that means knowing and obeying the lot, all 630-ish of them, see James 2:10)....So I don't know for sure. But I believe that Christianity is about love...
Love for your fellow human, meaning acceptance of differences and respect for differing opinions? Not so much. Read the Bible.

Hello, my mentally challenged new friend!
Were you diagnosed with the Aspberger's, or is this another one of those self-diagnoses I've been hearing so much about?
That is to say, are you yet another one of those people jumping on the Aspberger's bandwagon because you think you're going to get a free pass on your complete lack of social graces if you can convince people your brain has been damaged?
You don't need to run that kind of scam on us, young lady.

I was professionally diagnosed. Asperger's isn't the same thing as mental retardation (though there's nothing wrong with having mental retardation). And based on what I've seen, and what Didymus Much said, this is NOT a place of love and acceptance.Originally posted by Faith_Machine View PostHello, my mentally challenged new friend!

Hello dear, andOriginally posted by ActuallySanePerson View PostWhatever happened to loving your neighbour and forgiving people?
to our Godly forum!
Your questions have been asked and answered many times on this forum.
Here is a thread with some good answers.
Just in case you don't want to bother clicking on it, here is the answer in a nutshell:
Jesus wants us to love one another among ourselves, True Christians™. As far as anyone else is concerned, we are supposed to tolerate these other people if possible:
Romans 12:10-18
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Please note the "if" in the last verse. it is a very big if.
Why would it? God is not some "free love for all" hippie, so why should we?And based on what I've seen, and what Didymus Much said, this is NOT a place of love and acceptance.
Nahum 1:2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
Why don't you read it and find for yourself?I'm curious, where does it say in the Bible, "If you don't follow Cranky Old Man on Twitter, you will go to hell"?

Re: Hi
In that thread, the pastor brings up the story of the Good Samaritan. In that story, the religious people, like you guys, pass the man by. But the Samaritan--someone who is hated and despised--stops to help him. This is saying that the most religious person isn't always right, but the most LOVING person is, even if that person is from a group that is often hated.Originally posted by Basilissa View PostHello dear, and

Sometimes yes, sometimes no (that's why there is an "if" there).But it is possible for you to do.
Towards other Christians, of course, it is, sweetie.Well, Faith Machine said this was a place of love and acceptance.

Re: Hi
I know all my neighbors. None of them have the ass-burger. I'll forgive you when Jesus does. Please re-read 1 Corinthians 5:13, which, Pastor William Nathaniel Sampson reminds us in the sermon you claim to have read, commands us to shun you in the mean time. Until Jesus forgives you, I will pray for your demise, as David, whom the LORD loved, did (Psalm 139:19-22).Originally posted by ActuallySanePerson View PostWhatever happened to loving your neighbour and forgiving people?
Professional psychiatrists and psychologists are tools of Satan. They are the consequence of taking Jesus out of schools and culture, and of teaching people to rely on the very thing Jesus warns us against trusting - science (I Timothy 6:20).Originally posted by ActuallySanePerson View PostI was professionally diagnosed.

Not for those who choose a life of scattering in lieu of a life of service to the Lord thy God (Luke 11:23).Originally posted by ActuallySanePerson View Postand what Didymus Much said, this is NOT a place of love and acceptance.
No it isn't. It's saying even the Samaritan can recognize whom Jesus loves. To the contrary, sweetie.Originally posted by ActuallySanePerson View PostI feel sorry for you guys. It must be hard knowing that 99% of people hate you and what you stand for.
We feel blessed by all that cruel and unjust persecution that we suffer in the name of our faith:
Matthew 5:10-12
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
God created fossils to test our faith.

I'll give you a minute to go look up argumentum ad populum, or "appeal from majority". Hint: it's a fallacy, and using such just exposes the weakness of your case.
If the True Christians™ have any sorrow, it's that so many refuse to follow God's commands. My sorrow arises from how many REFUSE TO READ WHAT THE F'ING BIBLE ACTUALLY SAYS SO THEY HAVE HALF A FREAKING CLUE WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN TRYING TO DISCUSS THESE MATTERS instead of proudly parading their WILFUL ignorance for the entire internet to see. Maybe the link will help in your case? Probably not, but I'll hold out hope.
