    Hello

    Hello
My name is Lola and I am a teenage girl. I come from a Baptist Family and have grown up with strict religious parents. I have come on this Forum to find answers to questions I have about God and life since my parents say that I still have a lot to learn about God and how I should behave.
Sometimes I do not understand why my parents always get mad at me even when I have done nothing wrong, for example when my father gets mad at me because I am a girl or lets my boy siblings do Things I am not allowed to. He always tells me that that is what Jesus wants and I should want to make Jesus happy.
I want to find answers and understand These Things with the help of other people who worship God and may life in similar situations. I hope that this forum will bring me closer to God.

Hello dear and to our Godly forum!

Is there a Bible in your household? I highly recommend that you read 2 Samuel 13:1-20. It doesn't really explain why girls are to be punished for their brothers' offenses, but it really does create a very strong precedent, doesn't it?

Just in case you do not have access to a Bible, here is the passage in question:

    2 Samuel 13:1-20
1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.
3 But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
4 And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king's son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.
5 And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
6 So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon's house, and dress him meat.
8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
9 And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.
10 And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
11 And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
13 And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
16 And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
17 Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.
18 And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
19 And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.
20 And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.
God created fossils to test our faith.

      Re: Hello

      Dear friend:

Welcome to the Godliest and friendliest discussion board on the Internet. You have come to the right place for any questions that you may have about the Bible. While I cannot read your father's heart, please let me explain how the Bible tells Christians to think about the matter.

Men and women are different in God's eyes because of the purpose for which God made women. God made women for men, not men for women (1 Corinthians 11:8-9), because the animals that God had made as helps meet for man didn't make the cut:

Genesis 2:18-22 KJV: 18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

In fact, God even assigns higher monetary values to men than to women:

Leviticus 27:3-7 KJV: 3 And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 4 And if it [be] a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5 And if [it be] from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 And if [it be] from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation [shall be] three shekels of silver. 7 And if [it be] from sixty years old and above; if [it be] a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

If we still followed Biblical law instead of heathenish secular law, your father would be allowed to sell you, and you would not have the same liberties as male slaves:

Exodus 21:7 KJV: 7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

That is why a Godly Christian father would treat his daughter differently from his sons. I hope and pray that you will continue studying the Bible and being blessed and spiritually fed by it.

      Yours in Christ,
      Isaac

        Re: Hello

Hello, Lola. And might I say that is a lovely name. Short for Dolores, which in Mexican means sorrows. You aren't Mexican by chance, are you? Mexican women confuse me because sometimes they look Asian and I don't know whether I'm supposed to put them to work in the garden or get them fitted for a maid uniform.

Anyhoo, welcome to the Godliest site on the internet. I see that several of my brethren have answered your questions already. Take care, and God bless!

          Lola,
I will pray for you and for the protection of Jesus as you explore His pathways. Please pay attention to any warnings that certain people might have in the signature area of their posts. Please pay particular attention to those of Faith Machine, should he respond to you.
I say this for your own good.

In the meantime, spend much time in prayer, dear girl, and allow the Lord to bless you as He most certainly desires to. I've come a long way in my Christian journey and while most of my spiritual help came from other than this place, there are a few scattered here and there whose intentions seem pure and in keeping with the Lord's Will.

May the Lord richly bless you as you seek Him.

            Re: Hello

Lola, as you can glean from some of the other posts from True Christians(tm), the reason why your brothers enjoy freedoms that are denied you is they are your father's heirs. You are your father's property.

The Bible makes this very clear if you read it closely. That is why your parents tell you to listen to them and to make Jesus happy. They know that if you dedicate yourself to making Jesus happy then you will be focused on your lessor worth compared to that of your brothers. That, in turn, will make it easier for your parents and your future husband to control you and keep things running smoothly for them.

If you insist on the same freedoms your parents allow your brothers, your parents may be even more displeased than Jesus. Are you going to insist on self-determination and self-respect when those ideas mean so many others will be unhappy?

This post really clarified things, especially since it came from another woman. I am always so confused between home and School because a lot of the girls in my class say that men and women are equal but I know that God says something different. I just never know what to say in those situations and it makes me feel a lot better to know that there are other women outside of the Family that have the same viewpoint.

It is no surprise that you are often confused, Olivia.

You see the female person is simply not as well equipped as a man for thinking too deeply about things. You see, women often natter on about all sorts of nonsense and the Bible(KJV1611) tells us very clearly what Jesus thinks is appropriate for women.

Ecclesiasticus 26:14 “A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord; and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed.”

You see, the best thing that you can do is to get married and have as many Christian children as you can.

1st Timothy 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing , if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

You see, women have so many whorish desires. They literally force the minds of Godly Christian manly man into having sex on them (even if they know it is wrong and latter regret it).

You see, you must never trust a woman who has had the sex done to her.

Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women ; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

You see, if you can take this to heart you will go a long way to making a man (and Jesus) happy.

You see, making Jesus happy is all you need to know because you better believe Jesus has a fully loaded response to the hatred most women have for Him.

Matthew 12:30 "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad."

You see, Jesus will not tolerate evil and you must ensure that you follow the Bible(KJV1611) to the letter to save yourself from His merciful fury!

John 15:6 "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

                YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

You should be cautious about accepting spiritual advice from women. True Christian(TM) men are still far and away the most reliable source of all things Bible and all things God. It is perfectly acceptable to share recipes and advice on how to avoid sewing with mixed threads and other pathetic topics that you ladies seem to think are such world shattering things, as long as you do so in the women's areas and do not subject us males to nonsense like that.

While Sister Handmaiden is a shining example to all womankind, she is still feeble and has no knowledge of things other than what she gains from males who take time to guide her pretty little self along life's pathways. Most of the time she's sewing, cooking, cleaning, and reading God's Word. This is how it should be.

Direct your questions to those who know best: True Christian(TM) men. We will never steer you wrong because we know it all and we are stronger both mentally and physically.

Praise Jesus that I could be of some small assistance to you, Lola. Please do not become discouraged by the tenor of some of the Brothers' responses.

It's just that we get so much site traffic from those who come only to play their little games with us. They do not discern that our "game" is to show the whole world what is truly in the Bible. By reading it closely, as I suggested, you will understand not only your secondary status as a mere female, but God's true nature as an exacting taskmaster guiding us on the path of perfection.

You will learn of God's power and His mighty deeds, and the full force of His Glorious Wrath upon those who oppose Him-- or even disappoint Him a little. You will learn how deeply He cares about the little things, like not wearing mixed fiber clothing. (Deuteronomy 22:11) You will also learn how little He cares about things we foolish humans think are important, such as whether a girl actually wants to marry the man who raped her. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)

The Bible is just chock full of life lessons. Don't make fun of the personal appearance of one of God's prophets, He will send bears to tear you limb from limb. (2 Kings 2:24) Don't hold back on tithes, you will die on the spot as soon the lie about the amount of money you really make leaves your lips.(Acts 5:5) And don't spare any enemies if God has said they all have to be put to the sword. When God says it, He means it. And those who try to find wiggle room vis a vis His commands pay the price. (See earlier statement about "Glorious Wrath".)(1 Samuel 15:3)

Above all else, you will learn that "cherry-picking" verses to paint a picture of God and faith and Jesus that seems "politically correct" is not the way of the True Christian™. (2 Timothy 3:16)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

We also have the loving assurance of Romans 15:4:

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

You see, Lola, God didn't write those words to make our lives difficult or complicated; He wrote them so that we could have hope.

As a sinful descendant of Eve, you not only have hope for eternal life with Jesus as opposed to an agonizing future of being burned alive forever after you're dead, you have hope that someday your father will hand you over to a fine, Bible-believing fellow who will exercise headship over you so that you don't need to use your head for anything but keeping your hair covered! (1 Corinthians 11:3-6)

It's a glorious time to be alive, Lola, knowing that the world will soon end in fire and destruction, all to the Glory of God and the Victory in Christ!

So, just keep reading your Bible, and obeying its every word. Pray constantly, keep silent in church, obey your parents, keep your knees together and your thoughts on Jesus. (And try not to irritate Brother Cranky or fail to admire Pastor Zeke.) You'll get along fine here at Landover Baptist Church. Someday, we may stop labeling you as "Unsaved Trash"!

I would also advise you to mention to your father how handsome and smart and wealthy BrotherLarry is, but as he's already pointed out, as a simple female my counsel is worth squat.

I just never know what to say in those situations and it makes me feel a lot better to know that there are other women outside of the Family that have the same viewpoint.
Thank you, Jesus, for opening the eyes of another of Your wayward children! She has seen the light, and even though she has yet to truly knowi her place seeing as she credits another woman with opening her eyes instead of acknowledging the clearly superior wisdom of the men, we all know, as does she on the rare occasion her brain engages enough to think, that You, Jesus Christ, were the actual person to grant her enlightenment. Glory!

                            Dear Lola,

It's lovely to see a young Christian girl like yourself join the forums. What I also admire is that your parents were strict with you and brought you up in the correct manner.

I will pray that you are filled to overflowing with the Love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Maybe we could all fellowship sometime.

For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
