I have never seen so much stupidity in one thread, i've shown the conversation to a christian dude, and he is flabbergasted, you guys are out of your mind!

Ah, there's your problem. You equate "argue" with "fight". We are trying to invite you to debate, not fight. A debate can have validity, even when there is no clear winner. It can open the mind to new lines of thinking, and lead to new questions.

For many people, that is the whole point of faith. And that is why trying to change the minds of True Believers™ is such a challenging task. In a way, you are a "True Believer™" in atheism, but you can't quite articulate your position very clearly. People like you are the reason why many Christians have hope. You have such a poor grasp of your own worldview that it is likely some life experience will lead you to accept Christ in a moment of crisis or whatever. Furthermore, you can't mount a considered defense against the Bible, so no serious Christian is afraid that you could wear away at their membership and powerbase.

Well, of course we will keep believing what we want! Everybody believes what they want. You will never be able to introduce an iota of doubt in anyone's mind if you put so little effort into clarifying your own beliefs and instead spew out insults and profanity.

An example of my point. There are a lot of different people claiming to be Christians in this world, a few may be out of their minds, but most are not. The ones who effectively change the world are NOT out of their minds. There are in your state and federal legislatures.

If you were adamantly certain that eternal torture was the penalty for rejecting the Bible's authority and that your life was just a test to see whether you would escape said torture, you would make the same decision.

No, he was not. He had potential. But he wasn't willing to put in the work of understanding the Bible and its enormous influence on the world.


Right now, he is wrapped up in a world of his own, which is understandable to a degree. But if he thinks that he can influence the thoughts of others, he needs to get clear on what he believes and why he believes it. Then he needs to communicate those beliefs without resorting to name-calling.


There are people in this world who will disagree with him. Some of those people are stupid, but many are not. He, himself, is not stupid, but he was arguing stupidly.


Maybe Jesus will give him another chance.
