    Re: hi everyone

Hello, and welcome to the forum. I have found it very helpful and I trust that you will too. You mentioned a "Christening" which I'm guessing was in the Church of England. There have been one or two excellent revivalists emerging from King Henry's theological endeavour and although he had some unusual ideas about his duty to his brother's widow (a Princess Kate) he did in the end stand up to the Pope.

What is the Christian "culture" that attracts your husband? If it's associated with the Episcopalian movement there could be issues concerning attempts to interpret Scripture.

    All the best,

    Mitza.

Yes! I was christened as Church of England, so was my son. I also attended C of E schools in the UK where we had a daily prayer session at the beginning of every day.

My husband told me that he had a bad upbringing with neglectful parents and in his early teens he got involved with the police. A friend of his suggested that they attend a local prayer group. This appeared to be in someones home, rather than a formal venue. After several months of attending, my husband got disallusioned and left the group. Two weeks later he contracted a very nasty bout of measles, some went in eyes and threatened his eyesight. He took this as a sign that God was angry with him, panicked and returned to the group. His measles cleared up within days and his vision was not affected.

He describes this as his first sign from God. The rest is history.

Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Jesus is explicit. He commanded that we hate our fathers. Are you asking Christians to hate you? Or are you calling Jesus a liar? Reading The Bible will help you to understand God's plan.

Hello MaryAnn, I assume your son will soon be presenting you with your first grandchild. Becoming a grandmother, and admitting how old you've become, is never an easy transition.

But I'm sure several of the ladies here can give you a lot of advice regarding that.

                  Re: hi everyone

I've just had a terrifying thought. Could the Husband be seduced by doctrinal error in a tent?

When the tent starts we launch a 96 consecutive prayer and worship service for hours — prayer intercessors, musicians, full worship bands and teams, and night watch hours of 2 a.m. - 5 a.m.

When someone tells me a story I build up an imaginary landscape where the characters interact and the drama unfolds. It's not real, it's make believe. Sometimes a story has real things depicted, an antique shop say, but that would be an imaginary shop. If you entered, in the story, you could find anything! A flying chair, a pixie, a flogbnj (whatever that is: you'd just have to imagine something) but if you looked for the shop outside the story you'd never find it. It's imaginary. To live in a world where the shop was real you'd have to abandon reality altogether and never step outside the story.

Whatever world is created in the revival tent, it has no equivalent in reality. Within their story, everything seems real but only if you never step outside. There is special magic, within their story, which only they can mediate. Otherwise you'd never need to turn up with your voluntary donation to get them to intercede on your behalf. That's a voluntary donation. There is no pressure. I said there's no pressure. None. At. All.

There’s also no collection plate under the tent, either. Recognizing the reality, though, that someone does have to pay the bill at the end of the day, there will be what’s called, ‘A love offering box’ where those who wish to can with no pressure or expectation attached to doing so.

The world we share in Jesus tells us about so many wonderful things. And unlike in Jack and the beanstalk where an imaginary world (Jack's world) leads on to a 2nd order imaginary world (Jack's imaginary world, that is the world of the giant) the step we take outside shows us how the world we learn about in Christ is indeed the real world. His sacrifice was indeed effective and now we need no mediator. Although for Jack the giant was real, for us reading the story there is no giant about to fall upon us and so we do not need Jack. And yet for Jack, the giant remains real.
                  I TIMOTHY 2 . KJV . look up
                  5
There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

                  ROMANS 8 . KJV . look up
                  24
We are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

No wonder they wanna keep em in the tent! And whatever's going on, whoever's providing intercessory services in competition with The Holy Spirit and however voluntary the love offering box none of it has any connection with Jesus, God, The Bible or even common sense.

The whole world is imaginary and it leads to HELL FOREVER.

I strongly hope that this Husband is not being seduce by such false, and so blatantly false, doctrines. I don't want to use the term wallet piranhas, it describes a very unpleasant type of person, but there could be a whole school of them in that tent and in any tent any place any time which is why it's so important to read The Bible and to remember what it says. Not little bites at a time but the whole lot. In context. So that our eyes are open and the true beauty of Jesus can shine through. Hallelujah!

I'm hoping I have at least 5-10 more years before I become a grandmother! I am intending to go to the Women's Forum, kindly directed by Mary Etheldreda regarding Christian advice on some of my dilemma's. For the last day or so I have mostly been reading threads in order to improve my understanding of KJB and how it applies to my life....already I am finding some answers and wont need to ask my original questions. I am delighted I have found this place, its making me understand my husband's position more

I'm a little confused. If your husband is refusing to let you worship, that's his prerogative of course (Ephesians 5:22-24), but it ostensibly goes against Scripture (Acts 2:42; 46; Hebrews 10:25; etc). I would never ask a True Christian™ man to defend his behavior, but as your husband has not yet been vetted by the Department of Faith I feel like my skepticism is not really a sin. After all, he may not know the faith of Christ like you will after your Scripturally intensive education.

That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

He initially wanted me to, but I refused. Now I have asked, he seems to think I am being insincere which he seems to view as being worse than being a non-believer.

I have made SO many accommodations in our marriage because of his requests, but I have refused two requests as well if I am being honest and I am trying to change my ways and allow God to truly enter my life.

Numbers 30:13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

Well then, a good Christian spanking should do wonders for your marriage! He's angry? Spanking! You inadvertently offended him? Spankety spank! He can't trust you because of something you did six months, or even six years ago? Wallop on that backside! You burned dinner? WHAP! He'll see he can teach you to be obedient no matter what the offence, then you can move on! And the nice thing about a spanking is there is no black eye to cover! You're out and about in public again in no time (no sitting, tee-hee)!

It's like you know my marriage! You truly are so insightful! He has spanked me on a number of occasions over the last six months, mostly for transgressions relating to hair, makeup and clothes (in the early days). The first time it happened it was without warning, just over his knee in the living room, under garments pulled down and a flat hairbrush was used. I was so shocked it took my breath away.

The issue with that is he makes my son watch it with his hands behind his back and he is not allowed to speak whilst it is being administered. It makes me feel very ashamed to be in that position in front of my son...it is actually one of our issues we disagree on!

But I transgress, to answer your question, I am subject to CDD upon occasion.

It's so exciting to see someone learning about God for the first time. It's nice to have you on our forum, Mary Anne. Tell me, what is that really drives you seek Jesus despite all the hardships that will inevitably come if you choose to follow Him (Acts 14:22)? We're all going to die one day -- unless Jesus comes back and ruins my business (just kidding!). Why do you think it's all worth it? Jesus wants people to sit down and consider the cost before they follow Him (Luke 14:28, 33).

We're all going to die one day -- unless Jesus comes back and ruins my business (just kidding!). Why do you think it's all worth it? Jesus wants people to sit down and consider the cost before they follow Him (Luke 14:28, 33).

This is a great question!! And thank you for the scriptures! I think its all worth it because I want to be a true Christian wife to my husband and to live my life acting in accordance with God's image!!

I have already begun to experience some of the inevitable hardships that come with this type of enormous responsibility. I now wear much more modest clothing, and minimum but modest undergarments. I no longer wear makeup and ensure that my hair remains down rather than tied up in a lesbian style bun or pony tail. I also accept the fact that my husband needs to physically punish me at times to prevent wantonness or disobedience, however I do not enjoy this so it is certainly a deterrent.

I am not completely compliant with his requests yet, but I am hoping that being part of this godly group grants me the humbleness and humility to begin to finally concede.

Thank you for your warm welcome!

These changes have been hard for me but I am determined to commit to
