Paul paul paul paul paul paul. Im not interested in the word of Paul im interested in the word of Jesus.Originally posted by James Hutchinks View PostWhoa! Looks to me like some one got up on the wrong side of town.
Friend, not sure what your major malfunction is but lets see what Paul says, shall we?
Isaiah 29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
John 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
John 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear
unto this day.
John 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
1st Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1st Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1st Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1st Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1st Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1st Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1st Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1st Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1st Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1st Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1st Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1st Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
1st Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
1st Corinthians 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Please show me where Jesus himself says “ I am a god” or “worhsip” me. You cant. Because Jesus never said that. Only Paul did.
You are following Paul. Not Jesus may God be pleased with him

The Holy Bible is Gods Perfect Word© as he had His disciples transcribe it. God also molded peoples lives into shining examples as how to deal with day to day issues.
Only a conceited wanna be would self tout accomplishments. A True God is modest and relies on His Loving actions to describe Him in an unbiased manner.
2nd Kings 10:10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD
Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Psalm 33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good, his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations
Psalm 117:2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalm 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Psalm 119:152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.
Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
1st Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever.
1st Peter 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1st Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you
So God has promised to preserve His word - and we know He delivers the goods:
Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
Proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
1st Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1st Corinthians 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
1st Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
1st Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1st Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?.
1st Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
1st Corinthians 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
1st Corinthians 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
(Notice in particular 6:5 where Paul urges us to Judge fellow "brethren" rather than leaving it up to civil authorities.)
2nd Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2nd Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2nd Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2nd Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2nd Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
In the passage above, the Jews understood that Jesus was claiming that He and Abraham – who lived 2,000 years before Jesus was born – had seen each other. Jesus was, of course, referring to the two occasions when He had visited Abraham. On the first occasion, He dropped by to collect Abraham's tithes, travelling under the name Melchizadek (Gen 14:18-20; cf. Heb 7:1-28). On the second, he was travelling with two angels on His way to raining down fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen 18:1-33), this time under His real Name – And the LORD (YHWH; I AM) appeared unto [Abraham] in the plains of Mamre (Gen 18:1a). By claiming to be I AM, Jesus was claiming to have always existed and to share the Name of the God who appeared to Moses (Ex 3:14). The Jews were incredulous, but clearly understood what He meant, for "then took they up stones to cast at him" (Jn 8:59a). If, as you say, Jesus was not God, then He was guilty of taking the Lord's name in vain (Ex 20:7), and not a prophet worthy of the title.
Furthermore, if Jesus was not God but merely a righteous prophet, then He ought to have corrected His disciple Thomas's misunderstanding and forbidden him to worship Him.
Jn 20:27-29
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Instead, Jesus accepted his worship, just as He accepted the worship of the crowds when He triumphantly entered Jerusalem.
Lk 19:37-40
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
It irks me how you Muslims have retrospectively appropriated Jesus and all of our prophets as your own in a despicable attempt to give your younger religion the veneer of seniority. It's as ridiculous as the Jews claiming the Old Testament prophets as their own, when the New Testament tells us they wrote of and believed in Jesus the whole time (Jn 5:46-47; 8:56; Gal 3:7-9; Lk 9:28-36; Mt 22:42-45; Heb 11:1-40). You need to repent before it's too late, young man.
Until He comes,

When they ask if you are thirsty, this is what they mean:

Re: May Alan have mercy on us all
This person is lamely claiming in ignorance that Jesus would not have uttered Testimony about His divinity. In addition to the beautiful pieces of evidence presented by Brother Pim, we have one additional verse:
John 10:30
I and my Father are one.
While the vernacular of the Palestinian provinces was Aramaic during Christ's corporeal séjour on Earth, Greek was widely used in those easternmost parts of the Roman Oppression that later gave birth to the Catholic terror and its spin-off, the Islamic cult. Thus, it is prudent to examine this verse in the Greek tongue, as well.
ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ Πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν.
In this case, the Nestle, the Westcott-Hort, Textus receptus, Byzantine text, and the Tischendorf all agree to the letter, albeit the Byzantine majority text uses Capital letters in sentence case, but, basically, there are no significant textual variants here. So we can safely examine ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ Πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν as the definite "original Greek". Does it support the KJV notion that Jesus = God?- ἐγὼ = I 1st person pronoun, singular nomintive, no ambiguities, "I".
- καὶ = a simple conjunction, "and", no ambiguities.
- ὁ Πατὴρ = "Father", masculine noun in nominative with the definite article "the" again in masculine singular nominative, hence, "the Father". No ambiguities.
- ἕν = Adjectives and numerals are in the same category in Greek. This is neuter nominative singular, a simple "one" with no ambiguities. Do not snigger at its pronunciation "hen", please, Brethren.
- ἐσμεν = "we are", or for those who are familiar with more cumbersome languages that have more extensive conjugations than Godly American, this verb form is the same as the French sommes, Latin sumus, archaic but still ritually used Russian есмы́ (when you wish to express the copula and not just omit it or use есть), Old Saxon sindon (of course, used also for other persons in plural), Icelandic erum, Gothic sijum (from Wulfila's Bible), etc., all present active indicative forms that simply mean "are", with no ambiguities.
No ambiguities.

Yours in Christ,
Elmer
