Howdy. Someone mentioned
earlier on. I felt I had to speak up. consider me a 'devil's advocate' if you will, metaphorically of course.
I just want to express my point of view. I'm not looking to be saved. I'm just fine, thanks. No need to worry.
As an atheist I have no disrespect towards religion of any sort. I find all of them to be equally enlightening, and try to live my life benefiting from each and every theological piece of literature that I encounter. Though I do not see them as divine or holy, I do find them remarkably philosophic; Christianity especially so. It seems to be the epitome of philosophic discourse on the human condition. In any case, the disrespect towards your fellow man seen in this thread, on the theological side of the argument in particular, is astonishing. In fact, certain crusades come to mind when reading some of these posts. Jesus taught tolerance above all, and I've been seeing little of it here.
As for the issue of cannabis, I would like to point out that though the bible tells to obey secular law, The U.S.A. which many consider to be a christian nation was founded on dissent from secular law. We were given our rights by "criminals and rebels" in the eyes of the British king. Now to say that "the Americans were right" is circular logic. If we were still a British colony, you would argue the same, in the name of Brittan. The United States are founded on dissent. Laws change because people dissent and fight them, even though their actions may be illegal.
To the ones posting facts defending cannabis, I believe you may be going about this the wrong way. The issue is not whether marijuana is bad for you or not, but whether it is RIGHT or WRONG. It's a philosophical issue.
I do hope I didn't offend anyone.
P.S. on a different note, this being my first post, I must say this thing,
, though quite politically incorrect, is quite hilarious.
