Good, now that irritation is out of the way, you can get on with explaining why Jesus is so wonderful.

“We must reassert that the essence of Christianity is the love of obedience to God’s Laws and that how that complete obedience is used or implemented does not concern us.”
I no longer believe that homosexuality is a choice.
That is all.
You are quite right! Who, in their right mind would choose homersexularity? No choice at all!
Put your hand in the fire or don't put your hand in the fire - same choice:- no choice at all really!
But believe me, some people (men and women) DO choose it
They consider it "modern"; they do it because they see actors doing it or they want to advance themselves in the hairdressing and interior design businesses!
Keep away from it Froggy.

Considering that this newfound belief is contrary to what I've stood for much of my life I'd imagine you wouldn't find an answer to that question in the Bible.
If you'd like a little backstory I'll give it to you.
My brother had been a devout Christian all my life, as far as I can remember (he is four years older than me). Whatever I grew up learning, he is privvy to as well. Moreso than anything, he knows what this kind of event would do to our family. He has never been the type to do anything other than his best to make everyone around him happy. He would never do something like this on a whim because he knows how badly it hurt me and my parents when he made his announcement. That's just not my brother.
Hello, John. I'm Alie (with only one 'L', no matter how many the Landoverites choose to throw in there). I realise that this is probably a difficult time for you, what with your brother coming out of the closet like that. I would really rather have PM'd you about this, but you don't have that privilege yet, so this will have to suffice. I hope you don't find this too personal a subject to discuss openly.
You're probably feeling a huge mess of emotions right now. Shame (to think that your family might have a gay son), betrayal (to think that you've known him all your life and never once did he confide in you about this), anger (you might feel that this is something he's doing to the family), and any number of other things. But, John, you shouldn't look at your brother differently. He's still the same guy who grew up with you, the guy you laughed with, joked around with, the guy who probably beat you up a few times, probably gave you advice with girls or school or any of life's problems. I don't know if any of that would really be the case with you, but my point is that he's still the same person you've known all your life. Nothing can change that, or take those memories away, nor can it take away the love you have for him, or he for you. You love your brother, don't you, John? No matter how upset by this you must be, when you look in your heart, you know that you love him, right? There's no reason for that to change.
Please try to consider how he may be feeling. Living all those years in inner turmoil, fighting against himself. Trying so hard to deny to himself who he is, afraid to be something he's supposed to hate. Afraid to be something his whole family hates. Lying to everyone, lying to himself. Hating himself. It took so much courage for him to finally face the truth, even just to himself. And then to go even further and be honest with his family - that's just incredible. How hard must it have been for him to tell people he loves that he's gay? Knowing that his family would feel disappointed, disgusted, emarrassed, angry, hurt, betrayed, ashamed of him. Can you imagine facing that?
So, John, I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't feel, but please remember that, no matter what, he's still your brother, and he's having a hard time with this, too. My guess is he could probably really use his brother for emotional support. When this blows over, and everyone's learned to accept it (or not, some might not), you'll realise that nothing's changed, that he hasn't changed, he's still the same person; and you'll have more memories with him. You just happen to know a little more about him now. And this will probably be easier on both of you if you lean on each other right now, and rely on each other to get you through this.
When you get your PM'ing privileges, you can message me any time, okay? You'll get through this and it'll be okay.

Matthew: 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled 10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Dear John the Frog, It is by looking at a man’s writing that we see into his soul. Personally, as a Biblical Scholar, my specialty is to see the disconnect. It is at this point we can best discover what has really happened and what the parties think.
Where is the disconnect is your story?
Whatever I grew up learning, he is privy to* as well.
Have you so soon forgotten the natural history of Mankind wherein Cain and Abel, although brothers, are quite different? As your brother is older than you, he has had more time and chance to be tempted by Satan; if he were younger than you, he would have been more impressionable, less experienced, less cautious.
You apparently hold more closely to the Word of God than your brother and the Mark of Cain (or in this case “The Mark of Cecil the Limp Wristed”) is upon him but not you. Some deep underlying trait in his character has made him adopt the homer deathstyle.
You should mourn his evil ways and attempt to have him see that what he needs is the Beauty of Jesus’ Warm Love to be inserted into him, that he might be filled with His Glory.
In the meantime, read the Bible, tithe to Landover and await God’s guidance.
*FYI, Privy has but one “v” and ending a phrase with a preposition is poor form.

No, Mr. Mayfield, it's an expression. When someone confesses to being gay, they're said to have "come out of the closet". I'm not sure where it came from, but there it is.

He has never been the type to do anything other than his best to make everyone around him happy.
Well, there's what turned him queer right there.
Everytime he was in a public bathroom he was more interested in pleasing others instead of pleasing God.
Last night my brother took me to a Bruce Springsteen concert in Greensboro. I'm enjoying broadening my horizons.
Do you know what the Bible says about folks who go to Bruce Springstein concerts?
It says that homers (those "without natural affection") and their supporters (those "that have pleasure in them") are "worthy of death." Romans 1:31-32
Why are you going to joo concerts with your sodomite brother, friend? Can't you see that Jesus loves you too much to allow that?
