Don't all jump to welcome me at once.

I am a devout nondenominational Protestant. I look forward to making the folks of Landover Baptist Church my distant acquaintances.

I attend First Congregational Church in Columbus, OH. Go Buckeyes! Normally, I read the NIV, but I have seen you people's take on it.

My favorite Bible Verses are, James 2: 14-17

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

I'm not sure I appreciate your tone, friend. Do you have a chip on your shoulder?

Better have a look at our Church Doctrines before throwing any tantrums on God's favorite forum.

For quoting Scripture? I didn't know you were so particular. Maybe you would prefer a letter from Paul?

          I Corinthians 13 1:2
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Well, I would never throw any sort of tantrum. I might send you a strongly worded letter between fundraisers for the Humane Society and protests against the coming H1N1 vaccine.

I was once a fundie like your ilk, but over time like a fine wine, I have mellowed and gotten better in my walk with Christ.

It all started in October of 2008. I realized that I had been wrong all along about the poor. I was sitting there wondering whether I should put in granite or marble countertops in my new domicile in Dublin, OH when I got a true inspiration from God.

Now, I believe that Jesus helps the poor like me!

Oh dear! I always knew you hockey playing types didn't have very good reading comprehension, but I had no idea the level it went to.

I believe a fine wine that has gone off is known as vinegar.

Might be fine on the fries at BK, but has no place at the table of The Lord.

It certainly would be easier to read for a someone like yourself. In fact, I strongly recommend the BBE or Basic Bible in English for you.

It doesn't matter that it's not exactly right. It's that you are reading and getting to know Jesus as your personal friend and co-pilot.

That is because I would like to post here for more than 30 minutes. I mean, a cursory glance at this forum would tell you that they have a strong preference for the KJV.

You know what I say about that, Emil? At least they are reading the Bible, and that's the important thing!

I will gladly post the parallel version where the KJV is mistranslated when needed.

Silly fellow! All people who do good works will go to heaven! Protestant and Catholic will sing together in the central park of Heaven where at least 30% of the world will be at the rapture.

Buy my way to Heaven? Dear boy, do you know the Parable of the Talents?

It is a metaphorical story to explain how the salvation of souls can and will get you to Heaven or hell. It's all about kindness and sacrifice.

Matthew 25:14-46 tells the entire story. I'm just going to post the parts that have been pertinent to me over the last 24 months.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

See you, Sanmanuel. Don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Are you trying to claim that Jesus doesn't hate anyone?

Kindly back your ridiculous contention up with Scripture.

Here's what the Bible actually says...

                          God doesn't love everybody:

                          Proverbs 6
[16] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
And don't give me any "He hates the sin, not the sinner" crap...

                          Matthew 13
                          [38] The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
[39] The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
[40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
                          [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
                          Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Thus as I understand your claim, you dismiss the conquest of nations by The Trinity as shown in the Old Testament.

In dismissing this part of The Trinity's Word, you seem to indicate that it is within your power to decide where God was correct and where He behaved immorally?

Matthew 25:14-46 tells the entire story. I'm just going to post the parts that have been pertinent to me over the last 24 months.
Surely, if you have any belief at all, you accept all of God's Word? Your selected passage given at a specific time to specific people in specific circumstances (Mat:24:1) cannot be abstracted and suited to your purposes. It needs to be in the context of the Bible as a whole.

I say this as otherwise your passage is irreconcilable with The Revelations of John the Divine and God's message through him of carnage at the Second Coming and Jesus' excellent warning in Luke:19:27.

Forgive me, but I am always wary of creepy people like you who come along here as false prophets hoping we will fall for your "strong delusions"
