I make enough. She just wants to be a teacher. It's something she's wanted to do since she was a child. Not because we need the extra cash, because we don't.

I thought I would take some time to write to you and ask you for some advise. I am fairly new to the Land Over Baptist website,
I have been married for a little over a year, my wife is pregnant with our first child. We live about 2 hours away from my parents/rest of my family.
Her family lives on the other side of the country. Since she has been pregnant, she has been wanting to be around family, as we live in a small town,
and it is pretty much just the two of us. So my question is, should I permit her to go back to her family as I stay here to continue with my job and have her
come back to me before she gives birth? Or should I send her to stay with my mother? Or do I just continue with how we are now? Any other advise would be helpful as well.
Also, she is not teaching. She is simply going to school. She is a sophomore in college, as I think I have mentioned before, she is younger than I am. I am 35, she just turned 20.

A wife's wants are exactly was caused a woman to feed the man that piece of fruit in the Garden of Eden!
Jesus doesn't care about what your wife "wants". What your wife "wants" is modern Nazi-feminism speak and is strangling your Jesus ordained marriage to death.

Well that's fine then. You just do your Christian duty and keep her baking future soldiers for Christ for the next 20 years, and she'll forget all about this "teaching" nonsense.

Well I do know that once our son is born she won't have the time for her studies, with a newborn to care for. She was not too keen on the name I have chosen for him, but he is my son, and I will name him as I see fit.

@James : Thank You. Besides, I think Jonathan Christopher is a good strong name. My father/grandfather's names.

Titus 2:3-4, Paul gives these instructions as to how a young married woman is to be trained by older women: “ 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness b, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be soberc, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” Your wife is now your property, part of your family and no longer of her family. It is your responsibility to see that she behaves in a Christian manner. More importantly is the fact that she is carrying your son, who must be influenced by you and your family, not some set of outsiders. Where's your mother and her friends?

“We must reassert that the essence of Christianity is the love of obedience to God’s Laws and that how that complete obedience is used or implemented does not concern us.”

Thank you for that.
My mother lives about 2 hours north of us, and has offered to have my wife live with her and my father, if I wanted her to. We go up to visit every 2-3 weeks or so and she teaches my life things during our short visits, but I think it might be good for her to stay with my mother, which is why I was asking opinions.

Perfect! Your son will flourish in The Warm Blood of The Lamb.
PS Your mother is an independent Baptists?
