God may be the inspiration, but man wrote it... Not, I repeat for the dull witted, not, an infallible God. Ergo the Bible is as susceptible to error, as we mere mortals are.

When I dictate something to my secretary, I proofread it afterward. Don't you think that God can do the same?

... And can you put that human hand on that holy book, and swear before God that your proof reading is infallible?
So what you’re saying is that an omnipotent, omniscient being, proof read the Bible… When all he needed to do is cause it to be, and it would have been… What rubbish.
He can create the universe, but willing a book into existence is so beyond him that he dictated it to various scribes… Poppycock!
Why write the bloody thing, why not just hard wire it into us?
There is no depth to your argument.

God gave us the will to believe in him. Read your King James Bible!
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

You're the one saying that that same omniscient, omnipotent Being would leave us with only corrupted versions of the Bible, from which we have to guess at what He actually said. Again, if you're right, how do we know what God's Word actually is?

That’s my question. I’m asking that question of you.

My answer clearly… Is that we can’t.

So let us summarize what we learned so far.

                According to you
God, who created everything and everyone, made it completely impossible for us people to determine what He wants from us.

According to us True Christians™ however, God has been very clear about His wishes, they are all written down in the crystal clear KJV1611 Holy Bible.

Just try to engage that single brain cell of yours for once in your life to figure out who is right and who is wrong here...

Who's this "we" sinner? "We" True Christians™ are satisfied beyond all reasonable doubt (and then some) that KJV1611 is the inerrant Word of God.
Landover Baptist Faith and Message statement
"The Holy Bible, KJV1611, was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture therein is totally true and trustworthy.”
"We" (being you and your demons) deny what is obvious.

I'm horrified by atheists - they have no moral compass, no base standards - you never know what they'll do next!

Have you ever read a bible? I think that atheists and catlix are all the same - they say they have answers but have never read the book.

Such anger and hatred, a sure sign that Satan has his grip on you. Do you realize that Jesus can wash away all of that anger and fill you with the holy spirit and joy that you have never felt before? It's true! I was lost and angry at one time, until a Baptist minister showed me the way. Once I turned my life over to Jesus, was baptized and started following the KJV things opened up in my life like you wouldn't believe. I married a wonderful man, had three wonderful children. My life is pure joy.

                    You should try it.

The Bible existed in different forms throughout the evolution of the Christian zeitgeist.

The fact that you hold to the “King James Bible”, above all others gives testament to my assertion.

The Bible was writ by man, it did not appear from the ether, as the gold gilt word of God. Also it underwent quite a few translations, which given the literacy of the earlier transcribers, leaves the Bible as we know it today, highly suspect.

As to God(tm) supposedly not feeling any pain, why, he feels great pain and sickness each and every day, looking down on what this world, His greatest creation and most precious jewel, has become.

                          an interesting question brother,

Jesus came to Earth, yes as God, but he came down as a man, and as a man is therefore subject to the same realities as all men are, including pain. so i would say that yes, Jesus did suffer and did feel the pain of the torment he was subjected to.

Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior suffers each and every time ANYONE including you mocks Him, His life, temporary death, and His name.

Just how much do you think he has been able to handle the past 2000 odd years from the likes of you.

You ooze a lot of hatred out toward Jesus. Why do you hate him so? What are you blaming God for THIS time as to your life being a failure.

It’s not in the modern bible. Most of the writings in the time of Jesus, were yet to be formed into the Bible as we know it today. The Bible as it is today is an incomplete record, for example it does not mention the childhood of Jesus, though there are texts that document his childhood… Not very flattering texts, as they portray him as a petulant murdering psychopath… like his Dad.

I should have thought any theological scholar would be familiar with the texts of Thomas, Josephus, Judas, etc… Apparently not.
Oh goodie. Someone has read the Nag Hamadi texts.

Irenaeus had made commentaries on the Gnostic texts more than a century before those manuscripts they unearthed were even penned. You should read Against Heresies before attempting to play those off as canonical.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.
