I am 16 years old, and I am a Christian, although people tell me I should convert to Islam.

I live in Dubai, I'm very rich, and I seek your guidance. Please. I am lost.

I found this video on YouTube, and this guy is really good at presenting facts and promoting common sense. I might consider going Atheist.

I assume you don't mean Americans, of whom more than 78% are Christian, and fewer than 2% atheist or agnostic.

Does "the rest of the world" include the 2.1 billion Christians, the 1.5 billion Muslims, the 900 million Hindus, the 376 million Buddhists, the 14 million Jews, or any of the other religious people who make up 84% of the world's population?

Then you should stop claiming you are a Christian. While I disagree with these people, I acknowledge that they are logical. They accept a premise that I do not: The Bible is the true and plain word of God. From that premise, everythign they do is completely logical. they open the book, read the plain text, take the plaij text on face value, and act in accordance with what the plain text says.

Every other type of Christian I have ever met does the following:

1. CLAIM that they believe that the Bile is the unadulterated and true word of God.

2. Open the Bible and read the plain text.

3. Recoil in horror at all of the murders, rapes, and genocides; the creation of the eternal torture chamber called Hell; and the many other morally awful things God does.

4. Instead of saying "This is not a good book at all" and deciding that they are not Christian, they decide, "Well it must not mean what it says in plain text. It MUST mean something else" and then they say "oh yeah....context!" to each other about 1,000,000 times.

5. Continue to take advantage of the social and emotional benefits of the religion while not actually following the holy text.

6. Sleep at night.

You have to choose sooner or later. Are you going to use the logic your supposed God gave you and be like these LBC Christians, or are you going to realize that religions are man-made mechanisms designed to control people by allowing them to overcome a fear of death?
