Well Howdy to Y'all!

I just wanted to give the good people at Landover Baptist Church a hearty Christian welcome. My name is Peggy and I'm a mother of 5 strapping sons and devoted wife to my husband Bill. We're originally from Clarksville Tennesse but recently moved to Lynchburg Virginia to be near our eldest who's a sophomore at Liberty University and a center for the Liberty Flames. No disrespect to the esteemed Reverend Falwell but Bill and I know that college can be a time of temptation for young men so we want to keep an eye on him.

My husband owns his own business. He runs a website that provides local listings of good christian businesses so that your average saved soul can make the moral choice when hiring someone. He always says, "Last thing you want to do is hire a plumber and find out they're a Muslim. Lord knows what type of bomb they'd make from your pipes!" And since you know you're not hiring a Jew you can rest safe knowing you got the best price in town. I of course work full time as a homemaker and support my husband however I can. I'm also co-chair of the local woman of the confederacy club.

Currently we are members of Heritage Baptist Church, which I admit might not be as grand as the Landover Baptist Church but I assure you it's founded on the strong principles that built this great nation. However God willing, my husband and I are looking to retire to Freehold once our youngest has left.

I'd have to say my favorite piece of scripture is

Zephaniah 1:7:18[/COLOR];0]Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign LORD, for the awesome day of the LORD's judgment has come. The LORD has prepared his people for a great slaughter and has chosen their executioners. "On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish the leaders and princes of Judah and all those following pagan customs. Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who steal and kill to fill their masters' homes with loot. "On that day," says the LORD, "a cry of alarm will come from the Fish Gate and echo throughout the newer Mishneh section of the city. And a great crashing sound will come from the surrounding hills. Wail in sorrow, all you who live in the market area, for all who buy and sell there will die. "I will search with lanterns in Jerusalem's darkest corners to find and punish those who sit contented in their sins, indifferent to the LORD, thinking he will do nothing at all to them. They are the very ones whose property will be plundered by the enemy, whose homes will be ransacked. They will never have a chance to live in the new homes they have built. They will never drink wine from the vineyards they have planted. "That terrible day of the LORD is near. Swiftly it comes – a day when strong men will cry bitterly. It is a day when the LORD's anger will be poured out. It is a day of terrible distress and anguish, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, of clouds, blackness, trumpet calls, and battle cries. Down go the walled cities and strongest battlements! "Because you have sinned against the LORD, I will make you as helpless as a blind man searching for a path. Your blood will be poured out into the dust, and your bodies will lie there rotting on the ground." Your silver and gold will be of no use to you on that day of the LORD's anger. For the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy. He will make a terrifying end of all the people on earth.

And when that day comes I'll be waiting for the lord with a tray of hot cross buns and fresh lemonade!

Well hello there Peggy, you seem like a right Godly sort.

I did notice that you quoted from the wrong Bible (per)version, however. You used the New Living Translation (I believe, I don't keep up with the wrong Bibles), and we only use the KJV here.

You can find a copy of the KJV online here.

Why aren't you sweeter than rhubarb pie Pastor Ezekiel! My Husband would be thrilled to get the word out, last thing we want is righteous dollar bills leaking out into ungodly hands where they could be put to just any sinful use!

The nickname is my husband's doing and it caught on in our last congregation faster than green grass through a goose on account of me being such a tiny little thing. But I assure you pastor it's all purely innocent.

Well I'll be, that is embarrassing. Our Reverend in back in Tennessee, Reverend Everett, came from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville where they did so much of the translation for the NLT. I'll admit we used it until the Southern Baptist Convention enlightened us about our foolishness. I appreciate your watchfulness hon, may the lord continue to keep you vigilant.

Personally, I blame it on all this temptation of the flesh these days. When these slimy little spawn get to touching their sinful parts it's no wonder they end up oily and so obsessed with self gratification they lose sight of the real gratification only the lord can give them. I keep a poster of Jesus in each of my boys rooms so they always have a reminder that he's watching them and unlike satan's henchman santa and his coal, they'll get eternal damnation and unimaginable torment if they're naughty.

All my children are called 'child'. I have no idea what half of their real names are anyways unless I read thier tags. Eveytime I turn around, there seems to be a face I have never seen before. I am just glad they stay out of my office and workshop and let me have some peace.
