    Mohawk Girl

    Hi guys, call me Mohawk.

My nickname is Mohawk Mustang, because my ancestors are from the Mohawk tribe of Indians, and I love to ride my horse.

I'm here because my best friend thinks I should learn about Christianity.

Your nickname is longer than your real name... and you don't seem drunk. Are you sure you're a redskin?

My name isn't Mohawk. That's just a shortened version of my nickname.

That's not true at all, Brother Ichabod went quite yellow with jaundice and we all prayed that he would recover, just as if he were white. His grave is in Landover cemetery.

Actually who we really hate are people who pretend to be Christian but turn out to be liars.

                      Sound like anyone you know?

The symbolism behind the totem pole varies from tribe to tribe. I was taught that Manitou (God) communicates with us through animals, because animals don't judge so harshly as humans. That's why we carve totem poles; to honor the animals.

                              Stop shouting!

OK let me tell you about Christianity:

Many moons ago there was a Whiteman God who made the forests, the big sea water and mountains and everything. He made a whiteman just like Him.

Then the Whiteeye’s God made a squaw called Eve. But Eve was seduced by a serpent and after a lot of trouble and other things, the Whiteman God sent much rain and the tribes were drowned.

Many tales happened and many valiant braves fought for Whiteman God to destroy those who denied He was the only God. Eventually, Whiteman God sent his Son to Earth; His Son, a tall, fair-haired brave with blue eyes, knew not the meaning of fear and could run like the deer, swim like a salmon, see like an eagle and walked on water.

The Son was wise and good but people who looked like injuns told lies about Him and had him nailed to a cross. But Whiteman God brought Him back to life that we might be free of sin and tell savages like you about Heaven and how to get there.
