Not sure who's defending whom in that post - but as to the video, well I got sick of the sycophantic claptrap about ½ way through and turned it off. The communists would love it of course - oh, hang on: one way for academics to get out of the USSR was to apply for an emmigration visa to Israel. They were nearly always approved, and once in Israel an application to an occidental university could be made. Many Jewish academics did just that. (It only applied to Jews, obviously.)

So the right of Israel to exist was accepted by that hard-line communist administration.
