I know this is not the right place to put this but I am unable to post in the creation science section. Now please do not get me wrong, I am a christian but I think you may be misunderstanding some things in the bible. Just because it is God breathed does not mean it is all completely literal. Phrases such as "the edge of the Earth" are commonly used in literature to mean a long way away. This does not literally mean the edge of a flat Earth.

A lot of fluffy bunny Doubting-Thomas types, who think that just because some scientist so-called makes a pronouncement all of the Bible goes out of the window.

Of course "God breathed"; He made us in His Image and we breathe, don't we?

As far as the earth is concerned, there is a huge post, proving beyond doubt that the world is flat. I can see how you might think otherwise but that is merely cultural conditioning; you must rid yourself of this and immerse yourself in the Bible to feel His Power and Truth.

The difficulty you have, is that if you say one part of the Bible is wrong, where will you stop?

Since you've taken the time to find this haven, register, get a reply, respond back, etc., perhaps you can take some time out of your heathen-filled schedule to quote (chapter and verse) from the 1611 King James Version of the Bible exactly what we are misunderstanding?

What exactly do you think God-breathed means, pick and choose the parts you like? How do you choose what is literal and what is not? What is metaphorical and what is not? Would you not have to have a mind equal to God's to determine what he is thinking?

Isaiah 11:12
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH
This is a metaphor to say that God's people will be united again from all around the world, not literally the corners. If you are taking this perfectly literally, does this mean that God's people who don't live at the corners are not included in this?

Take any map of the world from any atlas.

Try to fold it, twist it, do whatever you want and make it into a sphere.

You will fail EVERY time. This is because as the Bible has told us, the world is not a sphere but is indeed flat. And it is an impossible task to try to recreate the map of the world as a sphere.

The fact that you cannot fold a rectangular piece of paper into a sphere proves nothing. An atlas contains a flat representation of the Earth so it can be put in a book. They do have circular maps called globes.

Even though the truest representation would be on a circle, I dare say that you could print a map of the world on the back of a turtle, but that doesn't prove anything either, does it?

My dad used to have an IBM Selectric™ typewriter that had a spherical "typeball" and you would think that it would be able to type on a sphere, but guess what? Not possible!

Now, let me ask you this: is there ANY part of the Bible that you think is literally true? Be careful how you answer.

Open your eyes to the truth, just because something is in a book doesn't make it true.

There is only ONE book that has all the truth in it, The Holy Bible (King James Edition, 1611).

The earth is flat: (Isa 42.5) resting on a foundation or pillars (Job 9.6). It is surrounded by the ocean (Pss 24.2; 136.6). It has four corners (Isa 11.12; Ezek 7.2; job 37.3; 38.13) and an edge (Isa 24.36) or ends (Isa 40.8; Job 28.4; Ps 48.11; Jer 6.22; 25.32). It also has a center or navel (Ezek 38.12).
