It is impossible for you to believe in God as much as you don't believe in God as not believing in God is the absence of a belief in God. This is a fundamental principle of logic and common sense. Saying that you believe in God as much as you don't believe in God is like saying the card you are holding is a red card as much as it is a black card, when it is in fact one or the other.

You admit that you have no reason to do good. You just do it because you feel like it. That means you don't believe in God.

See how simple that is? Just admit that you are an atheist. Now humble yourself before Christ and force yourself to change your belief system! Instead of believing in nothing, try believing in the King James Bible! Then you can come to Heaven with us! Hallelujia!

But the thing about the card is that I can actually both see and feel the card. Then I know it's there, and what color it is. But, if someone said that they were holding the card behind me and telling me what color it had, I would not know what color the card had, or if it even existed.
I have, so to say, never "seen" God, and that's why it's hard to know, because you can't really "see" God anyhow. If it was as easy as to just turn around, I would know. But it's not that easy. At least not for me.

Well okay, let's say I am an atheist. Then it's very hard for me to force myself into believing something that you clearly said I didn't believe in, especially sinse I have just realized that I'm an atheist and don't believe in God.

I like to keep my mind open, you know what I mean?

Well, it says that he isn't black, that's for sure.

But if it's true or not, that I don't know. Someone else can just as easily as you show me a thoughtful text showing me that God doesn't exist, or just simply that he's black. That doesn't mean that it is true, though. And neither does text from the Bible.

I understand that you are not sure whether or not you should believe in God, because you do not know whether or not He exists. But if you do not believe in Him, then that means you do not believe in Him. I'm afraid I cannot make this any simpler for you.

What you must come to understand is that you should believe whatever is written in the King James Bible no matter what is true or false in reality, because if you do not, you will burn in Hell for all eternity.

Well I guess you are right. Then again, I believe in God about as much as I don't believe in him. I'm not saying he doesn't exist. If someone tells me there is a dog under my chair, I will look under my chair to see before I believe, or don't believe, that there is a dog under my chair.
