I actually just stumbled upon this website and immediately saw some pretty radical posts. I am not here to argue with anything, but simply to gain insight and understanding to some of these ideas. Once again, I am not here to pick fights or disprove anything.
Firstly: I notice the "badges" that some posters have within their nameplate that say things like 1st Year Bible study, Protected by Jesus, Saved, and so on. Then I came across one that says true American... I am wondering what a true American is defined as, as I have always been told that this nation was founded and inhabited by people escaping the prosecution of the Church of England. A more specific example; the main author of the Constitution of the United States once said, "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect."
As a reminder to quell rising tempers: I am here only to gain insight into the beliefs of this church on these issues.
Second: I looked at a post declaring rational thought evil. I'm not sure I entirely understand... Rationality is defined literally as: "the state of having good sense and sound judgment." I don't really have much to say on this one except that I am inquiring the explanation as to why it is evil.
Third: The Earth is flat? Wouldn't that mean that each time we saw the sun it would be a different sun? I need this one explained, I literally have photos showing the roundness of the earth. You dont even have to go to outer space for this one... Even flying on a plane you can see curvature.
Thank you for your time and patience, I am looking forward to reading responses.
