  • An Agnostic's Heralding

I am an intellectual agnostic. I have no disdain, nor any draw towards any individual religion. I am baptized as a catholic, and I was christian until I was 12. In the past years, I've begun a much more cerebral look on life, and when events in my life began to turn me away from religion; I let myself go.
As an agnostic, I strive to know about the various religions; rather than to be focussed on one. I accept the fact that there must be a creation story, I just do not have any opinion on which one is correct.I also investigate the beliefs and values of various religions, and how they are tied to it's history.
Perhaps someday I will become religious again.

I hope you all will enjoy my company, and will show me some form of intelligent justification for your beliefs. I do not come easy.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Well, Bryn, isn't that just wonderful - you being an intellectual and all? You were a catholic until you were 12 and then you were a Christian? Now you are an agnostic - how very trendy - How liberal!

I'm sitting here thinking if I should be impressed. I have decided I will be. I've decided I'm going to be impressed by God Who will throw your immortal soul into a Lake of Fire and we will will see how your agnosticism pans out.

        Re: An Agnostic's Heralding

Nothing has caused me to hate Jesus. I acknowledge his existence. In recent years, my parents have gone through divorce, my church disbanded and a variety of other incidents have altered my view of the world into a more cerebral one. As an intellectual agnostic, I am saying that I am a free man, ready to be taken into the metaphorical arms of a religion, but that I will need justification first.

Divorce! That's horrible. Which of your parents was the fornicator in the relationship?

Why did your church disband? Was the priest sticking his pew into young men's rectories?

I get it, the world revolves around YOU! God should take time out of His busy schedule to PROVE to YOU that He exists because your unsaved parents got a divorce and your church closed!

Well BOO freakin' HOO for you! Things are tough all over pal, and you don't hear US deciding that God doesn't exist just because YOU had a tough couple of years! Talk about self centered!

"Oooh, Bryn's parents got divorced, I bet God isn't real!"

Nice to finally meet an agnostic who is an intellectual. So many of you people are utterly clueless. Di you feel the same about you great great grandparents as you do God?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I don't give a flying crap if you believe or not, to be totally honest, mostly because of your lousy, holier-than-thou smarty-pants attitude. First, you come here under false pretenses and disrespect our forum and the Lord, THEN you make demands that WE prove to almighty YOU why we believe in Jesus!

Well piss up a rope Bryn! If you want salvation, you'll need to be a bit more polite and ALOT more humble!

It sure didn't take long for the gloves to come off, for the thin patina of civility to be cast off to reveal a angry narcissistic spoiled Community College boy. You sure seem impressed with yourself. Next you'll be bragging about your secular IQ. What a pompous idiot this guy is. The first step is to get a KJV and read it cover to cover. But instead he comes here, asks us to explain Christianity to him because he is too intellectually lazy to read the Bible, and then calls us names in the belief that this will inspire us to do his work for him. Sheesh.
"Come Unto Me. Put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath." (Matthew 19:14, Job 1:11).
