Hello All You Unclean and Washed Anew

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I [am] the LORD.

Hello, I suppose this is the intro area, so might as well put the required babble and my favorite verse. One of many, but I thought one you would all get to know me well by, me and my newfound attitude and belief

Can't wait to make such GREAT friends with all of you that dither away on here while my brothers and sisters out here with me in the " 'Stan " ,as we call it, toil away for your freedom.

Peace upon you and may blessings wash down upon your head.

Re: Hello All You Unclean and Washed Anew

Okay, since you're so in love with that little scripture (that you can't even be bothered to source) can you please explain what it means?

I'm not going to hold my breath for your hippie babble.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Oh, I'm sorry, Levitcus 19:18, but then, I suppose I shouldn't have expected such a fine community to know EVERY verse. My apologies my good sir.

In my rather new light as a christian, I interpret it to mean that we aren't to judge or punish anyone that is against us for the actions of their forebearers, but to teach them the way that they are supposed to be. Show them the way and they will follow, and if they don't, then point them in the right direction with a nudge or a smack, even two if it is needed.

Why, how do YOU interpret it? Or are you too biased to take someone new and teach them yourself? To ensure that the salvation that you seek for others is given?

Well, it's time I best be going for now, but God bless you all and may He keep you on the True Path.

Maybe someone, ANYone, on here will find it in their time to educate me on the proper way.

I'm not going to hold my breath though if all the responses are like the previous one.

Well, that's part of you're problem right there, son. You're interpreting. As Bible Believers, we don't interpret. We simply accept God's Word exactly as He gave It to us. Don't overthink things... just accept and obey.

          II Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Since you are new, I will only issue you a warning instead of delivering an infraction. But what you are doing here is twisting Scripture in an effort to make it sound internally contradictory. It is entirely the prerogative of a True Christian(tm) to judge righteous judgment. As a newly converted Christian, it is only natural that you are still developing the discernment to understand God's Word correctly. It seems that the LORD has brought you here just in time, as you clearly need thorough instruction in the Word.

          II Timothy 2:14-16
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

For starters, I recommend Brother V's study guide: Bible in a Year.
          II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Oh, I knew where the scripture was from, however you should always source your Scripture.

In my rather new light as a christian, I interpret it to mean that we aren't to judge or punish anyone that is against us for the actions of their forebearers, but to teach them the way that they are supposed to be. Yeah, that's pretty much the hippie explanation of it. Now let's break it down....

First of all, to read it in Context, you must read ALL of Leviticus, or at least all of Leviticus 19

Leviticus 19:1 makes it clear that God is talking to Moses
Leviticus 19:2 makes it clear that this message is for the congregation, not everyone.

            Looking specifically at Leviticus 19:18

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people,
So it makes it rather clear that the Jews are not to avenge or bear a grudge against other Jews. Nowhere does it say "everyone".

but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:
Neighbours are other members of the Congregations, not the hippie definition of "everyone". Tell me, do you love pedophiles? Rapists? Murderers? According to the hippie version you have to forgive these people whether they repent or not.

            I am the LORD.
            self explanitory.

Why, how do YOU interpret it? Or are you too biased to take someone new and teach them yourself? To ensure that the salvation that you seek for others is given?
Someone is a little teste, aren't they. Perhaps you should learn to humble yourself before the LORD and actually gain some reading comprehension before telling us what the Bible says.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

This is called the INTRODUCTION section for a reason. Don't waltz in here with a chip on your shoulder, share your struggles with us. Tell us about the filthy, vile sin you've been wallowing in. Tell us about the drug orgies and the kitten crush videos and the dead Mexican whores you've left behind.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Luke 10:36,37 36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

So are we your neighbour who shows mercy on you by pointing out who God hates so you can avoid them and for showing you the path to Heaven? Or is it those who walk on by and allow you to slide your lukewarm way into Hell?

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
