Returning to God

Hello all of this Godly Forum! I have been poking about this forum for a few days now; reading older posts and the great knowledge of the Saved. I now have the courage to admit my wrong doings to you.

I am a 20 year old female that lives in Texas. As a girl I was born and raised into the Second Baptist Church. However, during highschool I was offered a scholarship to a local university and, against the will of my parents, accepted. That was the begining of my drifting from God and His teachings. I recently got a phone call from a good childhood friend who helped me see the error of my ways and urged me to reconcile.

I found this forum and am using it as a tool to help me find Jesus. I have read the entire KJV1611 before, but this was a few years ago. I am re-reading it now.

I don't have one specific Bible verse that I like. My favorite book is the book of Job. Everytime I read it, something new always fascinates me.

I hope I can find the way to God again.

I compare it to the feeling of looking up into the night sky and feeling like a small pawn.
The book of Job, for me, is a great lesson in humility. I know a lot of people consider the "moral" of the book to be "Why do bad things happen to good people?", But I think it to be more of a "Who are we to question the Divine Plan of God?".

There is a lot more to it than that, but that is the main thing.
Admittedly I haven't read the book of Job in quite some time. I need to get cracking.

Job reacted so gloriously to the loss of all his property. Even his wife and children.

It was nice to see God gave him some new ones at the end.

My mother had a cross stitch of this on her bible. It is the first thing I think of when I think of my mother admittedly.

Sorry if this seems a random question, but how do you guys feel about writing/highlighting your personal Bible? My family is split on this matter. I personally feel strange writing in the Bible itself and prefer to keep a notebook. What is your opinion?

An excellent choice of scripture young lady.

With regard to writing in your Bible, I would caution against this as it may be interpreted as 'changing the word of God' and hence heresy. If you must do it do it in pencil - this is temporary, can be rubbed out and doesn't amount to a change.

And to answer your controversial question about highlighting in the Holy Bible, I have solved the issue for myself by owning several dozen copies of the KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible, and use different colors to highlight in different copies. For example, the copy I bring with me to Godless Japan is highlighted in yellow, so I always remember that I'm preaching to little yellow heathen slants instead of Normal people.

I also have a copy highlighted in red, white and blue that I use on Independence Day. I have highlighted versions that deal with suffering, punishments, those hated by God, verses that prove His love for America, and so on.

I am so disappointed that Rick Perry is not on the ballot this year. I saw a pic of him in his Aggie boots. As one girl to another--he was hot!

Texas just seems to do everything right! You've already put down four bad guys in 2012! There are too many liberals and Jews up north so our prisons are filled with vicious black people who spend their days in the yard dealing drugs and playing basketball.

Anyway, that "Niggerhead" thing got blown out of proportion just like the Tarvon Martin business in Florida. George Zimmerman has a website and I sent him a PayPal contribution of $5.00 to help him make bail.

That's why we agree with Rick Santorum--it's time to shut the universities down. They're nothing more than gateway drugs to Hellfire. It's a shame your father didn't marry you off before you finished high school. He could have avoided all of this trouble.
