    Scary - I do not Give a Flying Crap About Anything Except Me!

    Yes, by your views of god, I'm going to hell. That doesn't bother me. The only question I have is where the golden rule fits in to your views? I only worry about a world where my daughter co-exists with those that place no value in mutual respect.

    What is your golden rule?

    For me, it would be to obey God as revealed through the Bible (KJV1611).

    As long as your daughter gets married and bears many, many male childs as soldiers of Christ and is respectful and obedient to her husband I can't see what you have to worry about.

      Why should you care about your daughter being you are planning to go to Hell? Being you'll be there for an eternity, I am sure the little harlot will be joining you soon enough and the two of you can resume your 'family fun'.

      You see friend, if you do not care about God, why should He care about you and what is important to you. I'll pray your daughter is not as closed minded as you are.

            I allow her to make her own choices and enable her to be who she wants to be. I'll respect her choices no matter where they take her. I believe in unconditional love. Family is the the easiest to manifest this love in its truest form.

              Matthew 7 is very popular among those that do not want to follow the whole Bible. However, skipping parts of it just do not make sense. Imagine if your wife were baking a pie and she skipped part of the recipe, leaving key ingredients out like the filling. It really would not be a pie now, would it?

              Chew on the following for a bit:
              Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

              or perhaps:

                Well friend, I know you think your words are mighty and noble but they reek of putrid indifference.
                My own children are allowed to only make good choices. I am involved in their lives. I see to it they make no mistakes. It is called participating in their lives.

                    I don't prescribe to follow the bible at all actually. Many of its teachings are in harmony with my own view of this life though. Laurence Niles asked what 'golden rule' I was referring to and I attempted to put it in language you might understand and respect.

                    and no - this does not involve incest or sexual conduct of any kind. Please, extend a mote of respect in this regards.

                    It is one thing to espouse what people call radical ideas on a forum, but I am genuinely curious (and concerned) how True Christians in act rather than words. If I might ask, one of your award is titled "Jailed for Jesus;" what was that for?
                    This is a tangent; I am still curious how respect for others beliefs is expressed in your theology. Using your recipe analogy, even if eggs are a part of the recipe, its a vital one and would not be the same without.

                      Let me ask you this: if your daughter tried to poke a fork in the power socket would you not chastise her?

                      Why do you not instruct her how not to go to Hell? Do you hate her and want her to join you in Hell's depraved embrace of anal rape and sorrow?

                      You so called parents who don't love their childs enough to to stop them going to Hell (for all eternity, mind) make me nauseous.

                          Christians have only 1 simple rule to live by, it's called KJV 1611. Starts from Genesis and ends to Revelations. Very simple.

                            All very simple friend. We follow the KJV Bible. Exactly as God approved it. Every part. No deviation. No exceptions. No interpretations. If God tells us something is good, it is, if He tells us something is bad, it is bad. Who are we to second guess the creator?
                            Some find following Gods Word to be difficult but isn't achieving your finest dreams worth a little effort?

                              I of course teach her; let her learn by example; let her make mistakes to a degree, but above all teach her consequences. Putting a fork in the light socket has a very real and immediate consequence. I warn her about the danger, can show her pictures, videos, or even burn victims from doing the action, but ultimately I am not physically capable or able to watch her or prevent her from doing something that she is determined to do. One way or another, she will learn. Putting a fork in an electrical socket would not lessen my love for her.

                              As for the gentleman above who proposes that controlling his children at all times is a greater manifestation of love, I'll politely disagree. I grew up in a very controlling home and have spent years of my adult life coping with the consequences of that. My daughter is incredibly well behaved. I need to discipline her so infrequently that she 1. cries at my disapproval (if I disciplined her frequently, I believe she would be callous) and 2. never repeat the offending action. To clarify, when I say "discipline" I mean put her it time out. I could count the number of times I've spanked her in my life on one hand.
