  • New and Inspired

    Hello everyone,

I am so inspired by what you guys do. When I was growing up, my family had a very half-hearted attitude to the Bible. As such, I don't think I got the morales I needed and strayed from the correct path many time.

But now I'm going to correct that. I would be most appreciative if everyone could help me hear Gods word!

    Praise the Lord!

A warm and conditional welcome to you! This is God's favourite and most friendly website and we would love to get to know you!

What church do you go to, what is your favourite Bible verse and when did Jesus first come inside you?

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Read the Bible. If you read it with an open mind from cover to cover just taking it all in without being "guided" to interpret it one way or the other I am confident you will end up believing in God in exactly the same way I do.

Unfortunately, I had to move to Asia for my work, and it was really difficult to find a church here. But I eventually found one called the Tokyo Baptist Church. It's really great there because it's a chance to meet some fellow Christians (everybody else here is a heathen)

My favourite bible verse is Luke 1:37: For with God, nothing shall be impossible.
This really encourages me when I'm down.

I think I first became a true follower of Jesus 2 years ago, when a friend introduced me to his bible group. At first I just went along without thinking, but after a while, I really started to see the light. And I met some great people. But then I had to move for my work

What, the one in Shibuya? I have guest-Pastored there several times. I spend about half of my time bringing the good news (about Christ's temporary death on the cross for my sins) to the slopes. They don't get it, but I keep trying.

Why would anyone need a Bible group? No, wait, I can guess. They told you which bits of the Bible to read and encouraged you to read that bit then this bit then the other bit and always had a reason for reading this or that bit.

I wonder if the bits they wanted you to read kind of matched their opinions and guided you to think just like them. No wonder you thought they were great people.

Here at Landover we always back our opinions with quotes from God and Jesus but when it comes to reading the Bible we want you to read the whole context and make your own mind up.

              For example:
              Romans 1:16,17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

This is a glorious and fine sentiment. Not a word that isn't wonderful to behold. But if you stop there you miss out on a stunning diatribe against people who make up God all by themselves and find satisfaction in perversion. Read it now and see just how much God cares about what you do with other adults while naked. See how perverts and people who would make God in their own image while ignoring what God Himself says He is are going to burn.
              Romans 1:18-32
              18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

              28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Now imagine reading the whole Bible and discovering God all by yourself for the first time rather than being guided to all the bits that suit the agenda of the Bible group. Now you are on the brink of believing in God just as much as He really deserves.

I'd like to know for sure, how did folk get to hear of God when there was no Bible? How would the good news be known then?

It's true that some people in the world have never ever seen a Bible. In fact there has never ever been a Bible presented to their culture.

God knows this and knows that those people will simply burn in Hell for not believing in Jesus properly. Millions and millions and millions of them over the centuries. But it's entirely up to Him to do this and not for me to question it, so I don't.

                  Romans 9:19-23
19Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Here is a perfectly good explanation.. If God wants to have billions of people made just so He can show His power by enduring the heathens while they live then burning them forever then who are we to question Him?

I'm certainly not going to anger God by doing so. It's "the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy," for me, thanks.

                      Well, yes.

                      Romans 1:19-20
9 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

The answer was staring you in the face in my earlier post. We don't need to feel sorry for people who whine because they never saw a Bible because God clearly inspired Paul to point this very salient fact out that everyone knows God is real. The heathens have no excuse.

"Ooh, I'm going to burn in Hell, you say, because I don't worship Jesus, whom I never heard of!" whine the heathens, "Well that's so not fair."

"You have no excuse, heathen," replies the True Christian, "God has shewed Himself to you and you turned your back on Him by living in remote places."

I see no problem with this. If you combine the two principles you can see that people in remote places with differing religious traditions are entirely at fault because God made them that way and also they chose to turn their backs on God when they could so easily have worshipped Him properly and therefore had their own true prophets like the Israelites.

I'm not surprised your imaginary space aliens aren't coming up with the goods for you. Stick with Jesus! It all makes sense.

I'd see this like, OK there's robots on Mars but they may not know God. God is not known on Mars. But there is the internet on Mars. So I could upload a Bible to the Mars server and zap one of the robots. Then the Bible would be on Mars (in the RAM of the robot) but should I (or you) have gone there prior- at what point would we have been damned?

I'd see this like, OK there's robots on Mars but they may not know God. God is not known on Mars. But there is the internet on Mars. So I could upload a Bible to the Mars server and zap one of the robots. Then the Bible would be on Mars (in the RAM of the robot) but should I (or you) have gone there prior- at what point would we have been damned?

There's nothing on Mars because Mars is a little light on the firmament that moves about.

That's what I was thinking! But I thought it was more substantial than just a light? Like maybe big enough for a few people to stand on if we could ever get there?
