    Hi there everyone

    Hi,

I didn't grow up in a religious household and I've never been particularly religious but I've been interested in it recently. What should I do?

    Re: Hi there everyone

That's simple. Read the Bible and get with Jesus.

Start at Genesis and keep going for a firm scientific basis for your faith and end with Revelation for an unambiguous statement from Jesus about just how imminent the end of the world has always been and what to expect when He arrives.

John 5:46,47 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

What is that pi = 3 thing? What if I read the Bible and decide it's not for me? That would be a waste of time. I need help deciding whether I want to go through with all of that.

How will you know until you try? If only that attitude were used for masturbation...

It was a revelation to me that pi=3 as the heretics at the Catholic church didn't contest the great mathematical apostasy on this issue. A careful reading of the bible shows that even the very maths they say is infallible and base their cosmology on can be wrong from time to time.

How long will it take you to read the Bible? I'm unsure of your level of literacy, so for the sake of argument, let's say 6 months. What is 6 months compared to eternity? Spend six months now reading the Bible and you avoid an eternity of unending agony in everlasting Hellfire. Seems like a good trade to me. And if you decide it's not for you after the 6 months, fine, Hell will still be there for you. Waiting.

I always learned pi = 3.14159265... I guess rounded down it's 3. I've read Genesis before but it wasn't very exciting. Does the Bible get better after that?

If you believe that, my friend, you will find the Bible very interesting indeed.

66 books in the Bible (and some of them are really short). 2 books per day (couple of hours maybe), and you'll be done in a month and change.

Reading the best-selling book of all time (and knowing what you're talking about when you discuss it with others) will NOT be a waste of time.

1 Kings 7:23 "And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about."

Like I said, Biblical Truth™, and no "rounding down" stuff required.

I don't usually like the best sellers (Tom Clancy sucks!). Also I don't know many people who have read the Bible. Like I said, I didn't grow up in a religious environment. Well pi is the ratio of a circles circumference to its diameter. I just drew a circle and measured it and the ratio is over 3.0, so it must be a rounding thing. Whats Biblical Truth?

Then I expect you'll want to learn how to avoid the Judgment, when all nonbelievers and sinners will be resurrected by God to immortal bodies, all so He can cast them into His Lake of Fire and burn them alive for all time!

You've come here because you have questions, don't you?

Well, I once had questions myself, friend. I didn't know if there was a plan for my life, or what would happen to me after I died. Would I go to Heaven, or Hell? I just couldn't be sure!

Finally, I read the Bible. The whole thing. As I read, I took notes on the stories I read, and what they taught me about God and Jesus and Salvation and how the universe works.

Let me tell you, my friend, once I finished reading the Bible, I had no doubts left at all. There is no question in my mind about who God is, or what will happen to me when I die. Wouldn't you like that certainty?

I'd like to recommend the two helpful resources in my signature. "Bible in a Year" covers only three chapters of the Best Book per day, and is right here on this website. You can join in the discussion with Landover's best!

"Real Bible Stories" might be a bit more your speed, though. You're what I like to call a "Bible Beginner", someone who is maybe a bit intimidated by that big book, and could be not too eager to dive into all the "thou" and "thee".

Real Bible Stories follows the discussion in a Sunday School class as they read individual Bible stories. Those kids ask some tough questions, even tougher than the ones you're asking here!

Will you do that for us? Check out one of those two resources, and tell us what you learn?

I suggest you focus on reading the Bible and understanding it. Once you develop faith in the Lord, and Christian discernment, you will be able to accept on faith that the Bible is correct about mathematics.
