Well I could read and understand the Bible but that will never make pi equal to 3. I can prove that pi is greater than 3 just by drawing a circle on a piece of paper.

Why don't you worry about your soul instead of worring about circles? If you want to talk about math, go to a math forum.
      Bible boring? Nonsense!
Try Bible in a Year with Brother V, or join Shirlee and the kids as they discuss Real Bible Stories!
You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

Well sir, I want to join a religion that doesn't ask me to believe ridiculous things that are patently false. It's obvious any religion you, or your colleague who gave me an infraction for saying pi = 3.14..., are affiliated with is not the correct religion for me. Is this a joke or is just a weird extremist sect of Christianity? It isn't possible that all Christians believe this nonsense.

        pi = 3

First of all, this is NOT a debate forum. We're right and you're wrong, according to Jesus and the Holy Word of God. Please read THIS thread before making an even bigger fool of yourself.

Secondly, while the internets might seem to be "free" to you, this particular corner of the internets is a privately owned Christian forum. The rights you have on this forum are listed HERE. Please contact a Pastor immediately if you feel that any of your rights have been violated.

Finally, your unsaved opinions or tantrums are not even slightly of interest to us. We follow the Holy Word of God TO THE LETTER, and make no apologies for that. One of the most important commandments in the Bible tells us to avoid unsaved scum such as yourself. You wandered in here uninvited, and unwelcome .

If you want to debate people, THIS is the place to go.

Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.
          Who Will Jesus Damn?

So you're calling the Bible 'nonsense'? Does it make sense to you that 1/3 of all humanity believe nonsense? Does it make sense to you that the vast majority of humanity's greatest minds over the last 2 millenia believed in nonsense? Does it make sense to you that the vast majority of the citizens of the greatest cultural, economic and military superpower the world has ever seen (America) believe in nonsense? Does any of that make sense to you?

Has it occurred to you that you might be the one believing in nonsense?

Obviously you've never taken a class that explained fallacies. Here is a good reference which should make it clear why I don't even need to respond to your questions.

Thank you for deleting my link. Educating yourself with the vast information available on the internet must be a sin.

I will sum up what the link explained.

The bandwagon fallacy is the idea that just because a lot of people do something it must be the correct thing to do. These kinds of arguments are not valid as they offer no insight as to why doing whatever it is is at its core a good thing to do. This is similar to the "If everyone else jumped off a cliff would you follow them?" question. So to answer your question, it means absolutely nothing to me that x% of humanity believes in Christianity. That gives me no information as to what are the positive aspects of Christianity that may lead me to believe in it.

Are kangaroos in the Bible? Do you deny their existence? Are cats in the Bible? Do you deny their existence? Are computers in the Bible? Surely you can't deny the existence of computers since you're sitting at one right now. Just because something isn't in the Bible doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

Okay, I just came up with a way to get through to you. Look at it this way, if you read and follow the Bible (to the letter) and at the end of your life it turns out to have been wrong, what have you lost? A bit of time, a finite quantity. But if you ignore the Bible and live your life the way you see fit, and die and it turns out you were wrong, then what have you lost? An eternity of Bliss replaced by an eternity of suffering. So is it really worth it to take a chance on gaining something finite, yet risk an infinite loss?

That wouldn't be a logical chance to take at all. So get to reading, Bub!

I believe that the Holy Bible gives evidence that God approves of computers.

Ex:38:21: This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.
This is summing – adding things up to get a True / False answer.

                        Now look at this:

Le:25:29: And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.
Le:25:30: And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
Le:25:31: But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.
                        And here we see conditional summing - =IF(Houses<Walls,SUM(H:H’), TRUE,IF(WALL=0, JUBILE),IF(HOUSE=CITY, TRUE),JUBILE))

I do not think there is a clearer example of the hint from God that Computers would be Godly.

If I live my life to the letter of the Bible as you suggest then I have lost all freedom. I have lost the ability to think critically and solve things that I question. For example, I would have to take it on faith that pi = 3 when I know from the experience of drawing, measuring and experimenting with circles that pi = 3.14... I would have no problem saying that God knows what I don't know but to say God knows pi = 3 when I know it to be false and to force myself to believe this would take everything I live for away from me. I am a curious person and I seek to find out everything I can about the world. If I live by the Bible in the manner you suggest it wouldn't allow questioning the world in this way.

Are you implying that a computer is no more than TRUE/FALSE and if then statements? If not, can you please elaborate on your argument, because I don't see what point you are making.

What I find so pitiful is that you see freedom in Christ as bondage, and bondage in sin as freedom.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Friend, I think I see the problem here. Think about it: does education make you automatically more knowledgeable than the next guy? No. There's educated idiots and uneducated smart people. You are under the illusion that your (probably) expensive education has taught you something, but in fact it's just an opinion and not the Truth. That's the problem with union teachers, they push their liberal ideology down the kids' throats.
