Re: A Candle in the Darkness
I'm not making things up, it's common sense. God wants men to pray and because Satan does not men to have a closeness to God he does not want men to pray. A true Christian needs to pray on all he does, all important decisions need to be made through prayer and asking of God. Satan does in truth hate mankind and wants to lead us astray, to become his slaves and to move use away from God's Light. How am I making anything up? Also just by reading the Bible one comes to understand Satan's personality, his deceptiveness and trickery. He wishes to led us astray and have us turn away from God.Originally posted by Redeemed Papist View PostWhere's your evidence for anything at all about Satan's personality?

You are making things up that sound reasonable inside your own head.sigpic
Isaiah 34:6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

Re: A Candle in the Darkness
I'm glad you're not bad at laundry. You are, unfortunately, bad at Bible-reading.
Let's examine these, shall we?Originally posted by StarDreamerNight View PostSister Mary: God wishes to protect while Satan wises to harm. God always tells the truth while Satan lies.
God wishes to protect:Did God wish to protect in the Flood? He appeared to Noah and gave him one hundred years to build the Ark, but never appeared to all the other people to tell them, "hey, I'm sick of your disobedience and will drown you all if you don't do as I say!".Satan wishes to harm:
Did God wish to protect in Sodom and Gomorrah? He smote the cities without so much as a peep of warning.
Will God wish to protect when Jesus returns and slaughters 1/3 of all humanity, as described in Revelation?
Outside of killing Job's wife and children--an act for which he obtained permission from God--what harm has Satan been documented to cause in the Bible? A few demonic possessions, which is really just basic mischief.God always tells the truth:
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
God will delude idolators so they follow the wrong path and are damned (by Him, for following the wrong path, which He put them on).11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Ezekiel 14:9Satan always lies:
God deceives prophets and then destroys them for being wrong (because He deceived them). And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

I notice this screeching harpy is making the most of the distraction to avoid giving any sort of evidence for her ridiculous assertions about the personality of Satan.
Hardly surprising. She's just here to feign outrage and be obnoxious.sigpic

Re: A Candle in the Darkness
Psalm 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 37:28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Psalm 112:6-8
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
Psalm 116:6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Thessalonians 3:2-4
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
------------------------------------------------------------
The Bible is literally and completely true so:
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Titus 1:2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
Satan deceived and lied to Eve, the very first lie of Satan that brought about the downfall of mankind.God is my light and my strength, and I am his sword.

So are you suggesting that the Bible contradicts itself? The Bible is literally and completely true so:
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Please provide Scriptural support for your assertion that Satan and the serpent are the same being.Satan deceived and lied to Eve, the very first lie of Satan that brought about the downfall of mankind.
Then explain why it is that God cursed the serpent always to crawl on its belly, yet we never see Satan depicted as crawling on his belly. For example, when he showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. You'd think the Bible would mention, "Satan, crawling on his belly, took Jesus up into a high mountain" . . .Bible boring? Nonsense!

Re: A Candle in the Darkness
I will have an extra "Thank you Jesus" for God tonight.
Ralph and I had an uneasy feeling about this. We did not know what to do. So we both spent a lot of time praying together, asking for His Divine guidance.
God spoke to us both, telling us to steer clear of this 'female'. He told us 'she' was not as she seemed and could not be trusted. He warned us of impending decit and trickery. He told us her name was not 'Ashley' but really was 'Lilith'.Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
