Define "tolerate" and "love".

I love homosexuals enough to tell them that God commands that they be executed, but we can't currently do that under secular law. But we're working on that through the Republican Party.

I love homosexuals enough to tell them that secular law gives them a golden opportunity to turn from sodomy and become True Christians™, so they may spend eternity in Heaven praising the Lord instead of being burned alive for all time in His Lake of Fire.

I tolerate homosexuals (that is, "put up with"), to the extent required by current secular law. I also tolerate them when attempting to witness to them.

I do not consider it "love" to tell them God loves and forgives them, when He clearly declares them abominations worthy of death, and states unequivocally that they will not enter Heaven. That's called lying.

Also, Christ says that we should love our neighbors and not judge them for we will be judged as harshly as we judge others and judgement is not our place in the world. I did not want to assume that the baptist faith would support anything different, so I asked to find out the answer. I know leviticus and deuteronomy may say different, but isn't that why Christ had to sacrifice himself in the first place, to free sinning humans from the guaranteed condemnation of the contract of the mosaic law? Also, why did I get an infraction for asking a simple question? That is ridiculous. I am trying to learn about the faith people, help me out.

I asked you before to read the thread that you are supposed to read before posting. That thread addresses the issue of whether we are allowed to judge, as you would know if you had complied with my simple request.

Friend, obviously you never read the Bible. What do you think God would have to say about a person putting words (and who knows what else) in His mouth.

I will take solace in the hope that dangerous/non-Christian theological thought will not exist in the future of my grandchildren. Let's quote some New Testament, since you find the Old to be hateful against homosexuals. What say you, Apostle Paul? Does God accept homosexuals?

Since you clearly don't understand the King James, I'll go ahead and quote the NIV to clear up any confusion on your part.

Before you start screaming about it being taken out context again, allow me to enlighten you what Paul says later in the exact same chapter.

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Not only does Paul reiterate that homosexuals should be killed, he goes further to say that those who support gays should be killed as well.

Well colour me surprised! Another person from the school of fluffy bunny Christianity here to set us and the rest of Christianity right on queers.

There's a reason why God goes to so much trouble to tell us who should be shunned (or preferably killed) in the Bible. It's because left to our own devices we'd screw it all up. We're way too prone to the urge to mercy, you see.

Let's take a scene probably all too familiar in ancient Israel. Two men are surprised in the sweaty and repulsive act of sodomy. The man who discovered them knows what he is to do and immediately draws his sword. But now he starts listening to his heart and not his head. The two men are his friends who he grew up with. One of them is his shield brother who pleads with him to be spared. For his friend to remember that he is still the same person who he has been the closest of friends with all his life. That is there's just this small difference between them. Nothing else has changed.

Luckily for the discoverer, he has God's wisdom on his side and he does the right thing and kills both of them immediately. Even better, his wider community supports his actions and celebrates that evil has been driven from among them.

Now let's look at today. Driven by soppy sentiment we listen to the entirely reasonable sounding pleas. We don't kill them. We don't even exile them or imprison them. We look for the good in them and turn a blind eye. We accept that a person is not defined by their sexuality but by their character. Can this be right?

Well God says NO! So we say NO! The only thing that matters about gays is that they are gay and therefore hateful in the eyes of the Lord, however much they masquerade as decent people.
