Peace to everyone!

My name is Maria and I'm a Christian. I attend a baptist church (a conservative one) and I live in Europe.
I was a roman-catolic because I was raised as a catholic and also because I trully believed the catholic church was the church Jesus founded.
5 years ago I met two conservative christians who told me to compare my belifes with the Bible's teachings. I resisted at first, I really tried to convience them that they were wrong and unsaved but the fact is that between roman catholic teachings and the Bible doctrine there is a huge distance...
I really had to chose: God or my religion.
I chose God, praise the Lord. I was 28 when I finally understood the importance of Jesus's death. I felt sorry for my sins, I knew I was living a wrong life, I was sure that without Jesus's salvation I was lost.
So I asked Him to save me, to rule my life since then and He did!
I cannot say I have an easy life, that everything is perfect... no it is not. But if I walk in obbedience looking at Jesus before any decision, I know He will fight for me.
Here where I live we have very few christian churches, and it's difficult to find zealous and warm brothers or sisters. I pray for my country.

I have two favorite Bible verses:

- 1 John 4:15- Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

- Deuteronomy 31:8 - And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

I am here to learn more about God and to praise the Lord together with those here who really want to do the same.

Welcome Maria! I assume you are not from some ethnic place like Portugal or Espana.
I flew in to Lisbon once. The smell was unGodly and the women were all hairy like savages.

I live in Lisbon, brother James and you are right about the smell but I have to say that if you leave Lisbon and go to the South the air is so much more pure
Anyway worse than that is that only 1.5% of the population here are real Christian!

Dear sister Mary, I thank the Lord for all the blessing during this time. God changed my behaviour from a "I know it all" person to a person who loves to be obbedient to God's Word. God is answering my prayers and I see my mother and aunt much more interested in learning the Bible, I pray for their salvation.
I also have to thank the Lord for His protection. He protected me from evil persons who wanted to destroy my Faith. Now I have several good christian friends. We are very few in Portugal but the real ones are close and ready to share the Gospel!

I'm glad to hear it! Surely you do more than simply thank the LORD. I, for example, help the good pastors organize their Mock Christian Kidnapping Extravaganza in cities and towns that have not heard about it yet (don't want to ruin the surprise!). We do it so much better than the fools in Pennsylvania who can't be bothered to "keep it real." Let me assure you, no kids in the groups we work with giggle when the pastors come out with their armed weapons and drag children into the van blindfolded and smacked for a taste of reality. For the coming weeks I work on training actors for local Hell Houses to share the reality of the evil intent of abortion doctors and how Satan watches over each and every abortion, laughing with glee over the tiny little soul that the mother offers up for anal rape for eternity.
