Hello everyone, I posted elsewhere but I was suggested to post here, so here I go;

I'm an Atheist, I was reading through these forums because I like getting insight into other beliefs and seeing people's thought process into believing in the God that they do.

I'm sure quite a few people will call me queer, or a number of other insults, but I made an account to post here to perhaps help some of you see why I believe what I do, and why I believe I'm not a bad person, or anything of the sort for not believing in a God.

Feel free to ask me any question, and I will respond 100% honestly. I don't want to offend anyone either, so please refrain from posting just to try and do that to me

Perhaps understanding another persons beliefs will affirm your own? Or perhaps you are curious? There was another thread here asking how Atheists think, so perhaps people would like to know that?

Well it's encouraging that you admit atheism is a belief system. I have no questions for you, but I feel confident you will soon realize the religion of atheism has not served you well.

It is a belief system, as anything is. I am not able to prove the existence of anything, including that the chair I am sitting on is indeed real. So I believe that the chair I am sitting on is real because it is the most plausible answer. It could however just be a figure of my insane, deluded imagination, and I am sitting on no chair at all.

So I think all atheists, or at least the ones who think about their belief- would agree that Atheism is a belief. I personally would love to be able to believe in Christianity, and that after death I get to live with god. But in my eyes it just seems far too implausible, and due to that I choose not to believe in it. The Big Bang Theory and evolution however have hundreds of different forms of evidence sprouting from every part of science, so I choose to believe in that. I am however, open to changing my beliefs if sufficient evidence came out to prove it wrong - how ever unlikely that may be- but as it stands it seems the most plausible thing to believe in.

Look, pal, why would we care what you believe? We don't need to affirm our own beliefs because we have faith that will move mountains. We are armed with the armour of God.

I think you are here to confirm your unbelief by somehow thinking you are scoring logic points against the poor deluded True Christains(tm). This is impossible because we have the perfect flawless, unambiguous word of God behind us at every turn.

A quick search of "queer" on google came up with;

offensive. A homosexual man."

I don't consider myself homosexual, in fact I am every much attracted to woman.


Just because an atheist is free to love a man, doesn't mean we all do. Just because we are free to murder without a deity damning us to hell doesn't mean we want to kill, nor do we approve of it. I personally hate all war and killing, as taking the life of someone, anyone, is a horrible thing to do, and I believe nothing they may have done makes them worthy of being killed.

Personally I find discussion interesting, I like to understand what causes people to love, hate and believe what they do. This may be one way for me to do that whilst also trying to provide the same things for others. Some - obviously not you - may be interested in what lead me from being a Christian to being an Atheist. Just because you're not interested doesn't give you the right to shoo me away from here before I can answer any questions for people who may genuinely be interested.


I'm not quite sure on the community around here, but I get the feeling that a lot of people here believe that Atheists are lying scum to do anything they can to turn people into the devils grasp? If this is correct I can delete this post and go to another site I guess.

Even though you may not believe me - I come here purely to answer honestly to any member of this site that may be curious.

Firstly, I'm a man, not a woman. Not quite sure where you got the impression that I was female.

Secondly, bible verses hardly have the same effect on me because I don't view them as holy or divine, I view them as slightly bigoted quotes.

I don't, I dislike him the exact same amount I dislike Santa Claws, the Easter Bunny and a flying spaghetti monster.

The one thing all these things also share is that I believe in none of them.

If you want me to explain my reasoning behind not believing in the bible, and Jesus, I can do so.
