My name is Owen Philips. I was raised with strong Christian values, and have spent all of my 37 years on God's Earth living as Christ commanded. I regard Him as both my personal hero, and as my true father, since my biological one left when I was two to pursue a debauched life of heavy drinking and sports idolatry.

It was Jesus who led to my beloved Elizabeth, five years ago, when I purchased the disused Chapel of St Margaret. I knew instantly that it was my destiny to restore the glorious old building, and turn it into my home to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Beneath the old pews I discovered a vault containing a single lead coffin, which contained my beloved Elizabeth's mummified body. It was love at first sight, but being a good Christian, I dared not consummate our love at that time.

That same day, I happened upon a Christian Spiritualist Church in town, and so entered to rebuke the people within, whom I took for devil worshipers at the time. To my astonishment, the chief medium, a large lady by the name of Mary, relayed a message to me from Elizabeth. The Lord had chosen us to be together and educate intolerant people who would otherwise frown on such divine relationships.

Hello, good Christian people of Freehold.

My name is Elizabeth Ingshall (deceased. 1817 - 1840). I work from beyond the grave via Mary and my beloved Owen, to carry out the good work of Christ.

I have many ambitions, none of which have yet been fulfilled, but when they are realized, people will stand amazed and know that the power of Jesus Christ and Our Lord God truly is omnipotent.

I want to be the first deceased person to skydive. I want to be the first deceased person to run the city marathon. These things are impossible at this time, because of prejudices in this closed minded atheist society.

I am currently writing a novel that is near completion, with the help of Mary the Medium. This, I hope, will provide a breakthrough that will lead to more acceptance. People will be awe-struck to read the first great literary work, penned by a deceased person.

I truly hope to converse with likeminded people here, who can contribute ideas about how I can achieve my ambitions to the glory of Christ.

No, it is not "to each his own." We obey God here, we don't make things up that just sound like fun. Sexural perversions are allowed and even encouraged in Islam, but Christ Jesus wants us to live moral, decent lives. Using witchcraft to contact the dead is a serious sin.

We are here to help you find your way to becoming true Christians, who love thy neighbour and do not judge, as Jesus commanded. A true follower of Christ does not call people names and stand in judgment... blah blah blah... Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters.

Matthew 7:1-5 Explained
The so-called "prohibition against judging"

As a long-time pastor and forum contributor here, time and time again I have seen unsaved scum waltz into here and tell us "Jesus said we shouldn't judge others". I then say, "Ok, can you show us Scripture to back up your claim?" They then respond with "Judge not that ye be not judged." This is nothing more than taking Scripture out of context.

Contrary to popular belief, Matthew 7:1-5 is not a prohibition against all judgment. These verses are a warning against hypocritical judgment, not judgment in itself. Jesus is saying we cannot judge others when we are guilty of the same sin. Let's look at the verses and I will guide you through them using my 45 years of pastoral experience and two doctorate degrees at the helm.

1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

This basically says if you judge others, you will be judged accordingly. This makes sense. Of course, I can judge others and I welcome Christ to judge me, because I am free of sin (see 1 John 3:6-9). He can judge me all He wants.

We True Christians™ are perfect. Therefore we all welcome God to judge us!

3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

This means hypocrisy. How can you judge another man for cheating on his wife when you do the same? A "mote" is a small speck of wood, while a "beam" is a large chunk of wood. Jesus is speaking in analogy here. How can you see the wood (sin) in your brother's eye when you have a larger one in your own?

4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Again, hypocrisy. Jesus is saying that hypocrisy clouds judgment. If you live in sin, you are not a True Christian™ and therefore are not granted the right to judge. You are filthy, disgusting, undeserving unsaved scum whose opinions do not matter. Jesus makes that very clear.

5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Now read this last part very closely. This tells us that we can judge others! Jesus is saying to remove your own sin first, then you can judge others.

How can anyone say this is a prohibition against all judging, unless they were woefully ignorant of the Bible? Jesus makes it crystal clear that we cannot judge if we are hypocrites, and that to do righteous judgment instead (as True Christians™).

We CAN Judge Others!

Not only can you not find a single instance where judging in itself is prohibited, you find many verses which command us to judge!

Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

1st Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1st Corinthians 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1st Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
1st Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1st Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?.
1st Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
1st Corinthians 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
1st Corinthians 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

...And so on. We can see from the verses above that God does allow judgment under certain conditions, namely: Only True Christians™ can judge. We are righteous (notice all the references to righteous judgment) and therefore the only ones capable of judging others. Conversely, those that are unsaved have no right to judge at all. So, God does have limits placed on judgment and those are the limits.

Again, I must point reiterate, nowhere in the Bible does it tell us not to judge. Period. I hope this exegesis of Matthew 7:1-5 has been enlightening for you and and you will refrain from looking like an idiot in the future by claiming that "Jesus said we can't judge others".

These are questions we are often asked here and I wanted to write this sermon to clear up many misconceptions that people seem to have about certain passages.

Love your neighbor, meanie!

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

They take this to mean that we are supposed to have a big hippie love-in with everyone we meet. The question I ask them is, who are our neighbors? Fortunately for us, Jesus was asked that exact same question.

You may know it as the parable of the Good Samaritan. You may have known this story as a morality tale as that the least of us can be good and do good things for one another, but the story is actually a foundation upon which salvation lies.

Please turn with me to Luke 10:25-37

25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Most of us know the story of the Jewish man who was left for dead on the side of the road. Two Jews passed him by one was even a Levite priest, but a Samaritan (an unclean low person {John 4:9} who didn't believe in Judaism the same way the regular Jews did.) stopped to save him. Jesus ends the parable by asking this question in Luke 10:36-37

36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise

Hallelujah! Our answer is clear. Only one of the three people was Jesus' neighbor.

We are to love our neighbors as ourselves, but our neighbors are only those who display Christian love and kindness by doing God's will. The people who won't help the ministry of Christ are beyond our help and they will be cast into the fire.

Like, aren't we supposed to love one another, man?

John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Again, this scripture taken out of context would make it sound like we are supposed to go around drawing hearts and writing love poetry to everyone we see on the streets when nothing could be further from the truth.

To properly discern this saying of Jesus we have to take it into context. Who was Jesus speaking to when He gave us that commandment?

The setting is during the last supper. Jesus is sitting there with His disciples. It was a closed event.

You only need to look at the next verse to realize that Jesus didn't include everyone in this.

By this shall all men (the rest of them or everyone else)know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

We are to love our fellow Christians.

But wait! I'm a Christian!

Maybe you are maybe you aren't. We'll know soon enough. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:16-21

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Only those who live Christianity in other words.

But isn't everyone a "brother" or a "sister" by virtue that we are all related somehow?

That would be an emphatic no. Jesus tells us that our own flesh and blood family cannot stand in the way of following Him.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Not only did Jesus tell us to do this, but He followed it by denying his own mother and siblings. Please turn to Matthew 12:46-50 with me

46While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Jesus tells us that only those who follow Him are your brother and sisters.

No, I'm sure I think I'm a Christian even though you're telling me I'm not.

Thankfully, we have the Epistles to deal with this situation. If someone calls his/her self a brother or sister and they continue in sin, the Bible is specific how we are to treat them. Please see 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

9I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

We are to shun you and ignore you. If you are preaching a Gospel other than what is in the Bible like coddling queers and other assorted sinners, we are to not listen to you. We are not allowed to greet you warmly much less let you into our home or we are culpable in your sins. Please see 2 John 1:9-11.

9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

In summation, there are many verses about love in the Bible that are incorrectly attributed to mean that we are to love everyone no matter what. The Truth, as always, lies in God's Word.

We get a lot of lukewarm Christians who mostly agree with our teachings, yet accuse us of turning people away from Jesus by being too rude.

Here is someone who thought as they did, but is having a spiritual awakening as he realizes that, yes, Jesus was not honey-mouthed diplomat, but a straight-talking maverick who called a sinner a sinner:

His crisis of faith is due to the preachers who tried to hide the real Jesus from him.

So don't tell us that you know more about bringing people to Jesus than Jesus does. Jesus is rude, he is attention-grabbing, charismatic, he shocks people, he wakes them up, makes them snap out it, and do what needs to be done to escape damnation.
