    greetings christians!

my name is Paul Oshana, I'm 27 years old and live in Portland, ME. I recently returned to the USA after travelling and living abroad for several years... I started in Greece and lived in Turkey for a year, followed by Armenia for a few months, then traveled through Iran, Iraq, Syria and headed home when I ran out of money.

I was born an orthodox chaldean christian, but my family never cared too much for the social life surrounding church. I chose to travel in the Middle East because I wanted to help the two-thousand year Christian culture that still exists there and see my glorious history of my ancestors. I stayed with god-fearing, righteous Christians in all of the above places and was welcomed by equally compassionate, god-fearing Muslims as well. If I learned anything through my travels, it is that the spirit of Jesus exists in all people, Christians or Muslims, blacks or whites, atheists or believers. In such a war-torn region laden with religious, ethnic, and egalitarian struggle, I was shocked to find love, compassion, reverence, and respect. Initially, I resigned myself to loathe the Muslims who had destroyed my ancestors link to holy land, but was overwhelmed by their sincerity and their respect for Jesus and the true path.

I left each place overcome by shame I felt for judging the beautiful, sincere, compassionate, friendly purely because they were not Christians. I have learned not to take pride in my own beliefs and history, and that is my I have begun the path towards salvation.

    Matthew 5:44

"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"

Shout GLORY. That's why Jesus is all about love, He does not care if you have been Godless heathen. All you need to do is to convert to Christianity to be saved. Those that hate love and compassion of Jesus, spits in His face by not converting to Christianity He will of course throw to hell.

I hope you converted many people to Christianity on your travels

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Well that's nice, but I wonder why you reject Jesus so much that you completely ignore the Holy Bible?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

That's an interesting perspective... perhaps I embrace the life and role of Jesus on our world to such an extent that I reject certain elements of the Holy Bible that I feel contradict his teachings.

I admit I feel a disconnect between the life of Jesus and some of the Lord's lessons found in the Holy Bible; it is certainly something I grapple with on a regular basis and realize I will never reach salvation until I rectify this. Perhaps I have not had the right spiritual guides to help me bridge this gap.

I sincerely hope my inner struggle doesn't reflect poorly upon my desire to become a better Christian every day.

So the book that reveals Jesus' teachings contradicts Jesus' teachings?

Do you ever listen to yourself talk?

You will never reach Salvation until you have faith in Christ. Your trying to reconcile the Holy Bible with a modern understanding of the world will never work, dear. That's how people start to worship Christopher Hitchens (who is roasting in Hell).

Indeed, I do very much agree with you. I will gladly admit I am just beginning to build the foundation for a true relationship with Christ. Thank you for your support.

Welcome friend. I am sure life abroad was very exciiting, trying new, forbidden things and experiencing the naughty delights available in 3rd world countries. But you are home now and it is time to buckle down and get right with Jesus.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

                      Welcome, friend.

But I have a question: Why in the world would you think you can be called a Christian and yet pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe and which to ignore?

I'm glad you at least struggle with the question, but know that if you aren't ready to burn false religious literature for Jesus (Acts 19:19), take up arms (Luke 22:36), and otherwise serve/be arrested for blonde-haired, blue-eyed Jesus (Revelation 2:10), then you can't be called a Christian.

                      Yours in Him,

                      Pastor Ed

Welcome sunshine, it's nice to have you here with us. I was happily reading your intro when I read this:

                        "orthodox chaldean christian"

Are you a Syrian illegal immigrant? Or possibly just a catlick spy. Oh, yes, I know about your ties to the roman see and the idolatrous mary worshippers. I only ask this as I too have spent many, many years in the Godless middle east and know quite a lot about your religions.

Mooslims = nice people? I think not. I have worked among them and seen thier insidious and sneaky ways. They will lull you into a false sense of security and then chop your head off and rape your daughters.

It is good, however, that you have come home to get yourself right with God though I would say that you need to read the correct version of the Bible i.e. KJV 1611.

All you need is faith. Don't question the Word of God as laid out in the Holy Bible (KJV 1611)

                        Romans 5:1

Therefore being iustified by faith, wee haue peace with God, through our Lord Iesus Christ

Hey pal, your little journey of self-discovery seems to have lead you far away from Jesus' protective embrace. I suspect you probably welcomed some demons into your space while you were dancing around in the sand with your Mohammedan friends. You need to accept Jesus Christ as your savior, get baptized, and get exorcized.

                          Immediately.
