Re: Salutations
I'm describing a character. For example, I could say Allah is evil, Mario jumps high, or any number of things involving games or books. Does it mean I believe in them? NoOriginally posted by Elmer G. White View PostHello, young Friend,
You are interesting and eager and adorable, aren't you!
...young and filled with self-proclaimed righteousness. It's cute and it can be eventually be tamed to serve God, to help Jesus in His tasks!
Some questions:
You proclaim yourself an atheist (no God), agnostic (no idea) and then in the quoted post you deal with God as an actual being (that He is) albeit accusing Him for being a hypocrite. What is this all about? This seems to me that you DO believe after all.
My life is about me, who I love, and what difference I make. You seem to be an example of total subjectivity of ethics? Is human life really all about personal opinions? Or, more specifically, all about YOU?
Have him go through therapy sessions. If he still wants to die, so be it.What about the pathologically depressed who says he wants to die? Let him? Is it that simple?
How would laws like do not kill, do not rape, and do not steal lead to damnation?Of course, I can regocnize the charming youthful egotism that is characteristic of puberty but please reconsider.
You see, society functions with ethical rules that quite a few people agree on. Regarding life and death, sex and education. Even atheist societies have rules albeit ungodly and thus leading to damnation.
I do enjoy learning, though that is the path that has brought me to my atheism.Still, welcome! It is good for young ignoramuses (or shall we say ignorami with the latin plural) to try to learn. Young age is a disorder that will get better every day, so rest assured!
1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Above are some remedies you might want to experiment with.
Yours in Christ,
Elmer

Re: Salutations
We know that without God this person has no moral compass. To reject God is to reject morality, and I noticed in the original post:Originally posted by Basilissa View PostWow, that was a quick descent from:to:I'm an agnostic so I do try to keep an open mind to new ideas. I still respect Christianity. I think that it has some good morals.I think you should try opening your mind again. I don't think it worked properly the first time.I believe that God is a hypocrite due to him killing so many without feeling bad.
I don't believe that all morals came from a God. I currently believe that empathy dictates or morals. Killing is wrong because I do not want to be killed.Chicago University has some weird ideas about cycles of learning. Engage. Disengage. Experiment. Re-engage; essentially a behaviourist model of education otherwise known as brainwashing and a characteristic of big atheism.I'm 19 years old, and I live in Chicago
And at 19 it is possible he's considering a course there. Certainly he will have been taught by such indoctrinated types who substitute dogma for reality and base decisions on claims made with no supporting evidence. Indeed, they even proffer the body of claims itself as evidence, seeming to have no comprehension that that's what they're doing.
So what you've pointed out is the result of such an educational programme. First he engages then, suddenly, disengages with an abrupt change of focus. Next we can expect the "experimental" phase, a sort of sub-rourine where unrelated themes get explored. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Re: Salutations
Dear Mrs. Lytton-Vasey, based on my empirical knowledge of the quality of undergraduate students, it depends on whether a relative of the applicant in question has a building on campus named after him/her, or not.Originally posted by Joanna Lytton-Vasey View PostBut does Chicago University not have at least some minimum entrance requirement?John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Well he wants to do Medicine. That's the Pritzker School. More stringent requirements usually apply to "schools" than to "faculties" and the 2016 criteria are referred to here.Originally posted by Joanna Lytton-Vasey View PostBut does Chicago University not have at least some minimum entrance requirement?
