And its not because of the name "iceland" its because the indigenous population did not want foreign invaders taking over their land so they named the more icy and more Arctic like region Greenland and the more life sustainable region Iceland in an attempt to confuse would be invaders.

And secons Iceland has so much geological activity because it is one of many birthing places of modern day land masses. Its common high school science that volcanoes create land mass and the shifting of lava flow causes tectonic plates to move where they are today.

But of course yall are going to tell me im wrong but before you do take A look at where the most active volcanoes above land are. Yellowstone is one of hundreds that happen to be in America so if Iceland is going to hell for have geological activity ill be sure to let them know to save us some seats cause according to yall all of America will be right next to them.

Oh this is interesting to me. Can you explain how Icelanders thwarted would-be invaders by virtue of naming their land unfavorably? Did they have big signs along the coasts and watch as viking ships turned around in frustration? Did they use smoke signals across the Atlantic to warn the Europeans of this icy wasteland? Were North, Central, and South America first called Gold-And-Silver-And-Endless-Slaves Land? Perhaps that explains why the Americas were so thoroughly colonized by Europeans whereas Iceland was left alone.
