Whilst I am no great fan of British reality TV, I find both your homophobia and your generalisations worrying. On the issue of entertainment, I would refer you to Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens and countless other literary giants that most people on your side of the Atlantic rightly admire.

If it's "communist" to mainain a healthcare system that ensures that every member of our society is granted free and extensive treatment, then I'd sincerely recommend that you investigate the idea in America. Our system isn't perfect, but at least thousands of our citizens don't die every year because they can't afford treatment.

So? By giving them handouts you prevent them from getting a job and earning an honest living.

There is nothing "true" about the fundamental and dangerous Christianity that Jacqui Smith proscribed. We are a tolerant society, but there is no place for extremist preachers - of whichever faith - who insist on a literal interpretation of all passages of the bible.

Brittain is a country filled with indecisive people who can not even make up their little minds about if we should call them Great Brittain, England, British Isles or the United Kingdom.

It's terribly simple, actually. We are the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". You can call us what you like - as you so frequently do - but generally people refer to our great nation as the "United Kingdom", "Great Britain", or use the name of its largest constituent country: England.

"British Isles" is a geographical term, which is never used to refer to the UK, as the term encompasses the Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man, which are not part of the United Kingdom.

You condemn us as indecisive, but I might equally wonder what to call your country. Is it the United States, America, or (to use your fallacious terminology), North America?

You need to remember that the Bible is a document reflecting truths in Palestinian society 2,000 years ago, and that its existential message needs to be viewed in light of modern society. As an Englishmen I am very angry with the so called education system here. I know the heathens teach that the Earth orbits the Sun despite all the evidence. The also teach we are from monkeys instead of dust and a spare rib. I have had to go to my sons school yet again. I thought I had heard it all, but today I am livid.

My 8 year old son came home upset. He has failed an exam by one point.

The question he got supposedly wrong? What type of animal is a bat? He correctly said bird.

I do not believe in sparing the rod and he reads the KJV1611 for an hour before he goes to school so he knows his scripture.

I am ashamed and embarrassed of my country and its Godless ways. Even though I live in Britian I had not appreciated the full extent of the athiest delussions suffered by many of my countrymen and compatriots untill I read through this thread. I have to say it is trully shocking reading the pathetic atempts of people such as RuleBritania, Frank Gallager, Accessdenied, JNixon, and Munky UK, trying to denounce the word of our Lord God and good and true believers of this fine congregation.

I fear the next tsunami is going to be in this direction and having read the godless drivle and trash of these people, it will be thoroughly deserved. The way they talk it makes this place seem worse than France.

If I said to you "hey, go clean my gutters and I'll give you £50 for your trouble" and you had more than enough money to survive comfortably what would you say? Yes I know I'm not god, yes I know god doesn't ask you to clean your gutters, yes I know my currency is useless to you and yes I know this would never happen but I'm guessing you would say no, because you wouldn't need that money and to take it would be greedy. Now, if I had helped you out only because I had felt charitable and happened to need a favour only you could fulfill, would you do it? It would be more likely for you to do it in this scenario, as greed is not involved but only the kindness of people.

What I am trying to say is, the attitude christians mostly take to religion is one of fear and wanting to not have pain. Surely that wanting of bliss (heaven) is greed in itself? I don't know much about religion, but I'm pretty sure greed is a sin, and I've read somewhere that TRUE christians will serve their lord not because they fear eternal pain, but because they want to.
Now do you see what I am trying to say? Saying that believing in god is your way to a ticket in heaven is more selfish than saying that you will gladly serve your master just because he created you.

I fear God, like I should! It is our responsibility as True Christians to spread the fear of the Lord. If you would read the 1611 King James Bible you would know this.

There are literally dozens of scriptures that command us to fear the Lord; I will share with you one of my favorites.

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.~Isaiah 8:13
