I just recently registered in your forum, and first of all, great work: this has very useful information over here!

For work reasons I just moved to Portugaaaahhhl for a few months (at least 6, as far as I know), and I'm quite scarred about what I've read here. Is this country really bad, and full of sinners?

I'm only here for a week, but already I've seen a lot of Mary worshiping, that made me sick... are these people for real? Or is this some kind of lame comedy? I notice they have lots of shows on TV making fun of serious things, mind you I don't understand spanish,so I can't understand what they're saying, but I've seen nude men and women showing pictures of Jesus and laughing... I can't imagine what kind of joke they were telling.. but they'll not achieve redemption that way, that's for sure!

Also I find the food at the hotel disgusting: they eat raw pork penis (yes, really!) and they chef was quite annoyed when I obviously turned it down... I've bought a microwave oven and cooked my meals in my bedroom since then.

Do you have any tips for me? How can i survive the next 6 months in this country? Hopefully they will be sold to some other country and bring salvation to these people...

Are you sure sure you are in Portugal?
I've been there several times, and they don't speak spanish, they don't eat raw pork penis (or any other penis or raw things) and the people are also very very religious so, what you said about being nude and laughing at jesus is not true!!! unless you are watching some kind of american porn movie!

I'm absolutely sure I'm in Portugal! Particularly in some town called Coinbra (yes, coin+bra!, even the name is a perversion...). How long ago have you been to Portugal?

I don't know the name of that particular dish, but I can find it for you if you're interested... It was a red peace of meat, thick as a pork penis, and with a knot holding the tip of the penis to it's base... just horrible...

For work reasons I travel a lot, and I've never seen stranger foods, or people, or habits...

I have read bits of your posts (not all of it... too long didn't read... perhaps I did not have the patience and the am not idiot enough to waste my time on moronic writing).

Let me tell you a little story about Portugal (yeah, I am Portuguese, and proud). You see that part of your story, right at the begining when you were discovered? Well, around then we already owned half the world... but lets not talk about that, lets talk about your culture instead.. because not long ago I seem to remember having seen Portugal described as an island somewhere in the pacific in a well known magazine of yours. But hey, honest mistake! How about Cannes on CNN pointed in the map as if it was near Oviedo, in northern Spain?... but hey...honest mistake...again!!

Lets see... how many of Portuguese towns can you name? Even better, how many of european countries can you name? Because I can certainly name almost all of your magnificent states... I can even throw in a few cities that are District Capitals to go along with it... oh...and wait... how many of you can speak Portuguese? Because I sure can understand your simple language!! And to those of you who do not know this fact, know that there are almost twice as many people speaking Portuguese than English or your so called American...

I am very unhappy to tell you that since I was a kid that I hear around all of Europe that Americans are quite dumb and have no general culture at all, and I have been always against that kind of statements.. and then I see this kind of posts and I am inclined to believe that it is true after all..

Actually is COIMBRA! and it's one of the most famous towns in Portugal as it has a lot of universities.

What you think its a pork penis, will probably be some kind of sausage (is it Alheira ou Chorico?). If you are confusing it with penis, then you should really try to learn a bit more of EVERYTHING!!!!

I've been to Portugal 2 weeks ago. I normally travel there 4/5 times a year for 1 or 2 months each time.

I'm just trying to get some help for the next 6 months of living in Coinbra / Portugal.

For those of you trying to excuse the Portuguese people, you've must certainly never been here! Every single time I go out of my hotel it's like diving in a Pool of Sin™! There are drug addicts, drug dealers, robbers, prostitutes and street gangs in every corner... and that's during the day!!!!! At night I never leave my hotel, and I'm not planning to.

They have some kind religious monument over here that they worship that they called 'Cabra'. What's wrong with that you ask? Oh nothing.. just the meaning of the word... apparently it's a spaning slang for 'Slut'© or 'Bitch'©. I was just petrified when they told me that...

Do you know of some specific Bible passage that can help me deal with this situation?

Truly the most tragic part of this thread is the shame these people have about their spanish-mooslim heritage.
