Ever heard of Anthony Bourdain? He is one of the world's most respected chef. He came to Portugal and tasted ouor food and he found it wonderful and rich in flavour and protein. And most importantly almost every tourist that visits Portugal point out food as one of the wonders of this country. Too bad you don't want to taste it, your loss.

Don't know where you got those pictures from but that's not in Portugal. Try to do a search for castelo de São Jorge or Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Those are beautiful monuments.

Last week I was having vacation at Portugal. I really had enough of this cold Godforsaken place I have to live right now and though that I have a holiday at some warm nice country. I did know that Portuguese have been really lazy, getting their country to bankrupt, but I though that now they would be friendly and humble as other Europeans are saving their butt.

I have to admit that it was warm, but everything else was disappointment. First we paid about 2000 dollars for our hotel apartment. The apartment itself was ok, but the equipment wasn't. There was only 25" lcd tv and about 11 channels. No dvd or BD player, no sound system. And only 2 channels where in American language.

And in every other 3rd world countries I have got servant for that price. When I asked where the servant is, they didn't understand and tried to give me room service number.

Next horror awaited me when we had a walk at the town. I was almost ripped half when waiters tried to get me to their filthy little bars and restaurants where waitress had moustache and looked like mexican. Fortunately we found McDonald's and got some decent food, not any weird stuff like their cataplana where they put things they find under the stones.

When we had eaten, we asked if the place had any attraction that we should see and we where led to catlic church! How rude is that?

Later in the evening, I visited the town square. I had to leave my family to the hotel because streets were full of drunken Brits and you know they are not something to show to your children. I sat down to a bench and watched mime artist for maybe 5 minutes and I was approached by man trying to sell me weed. And the worst part was that he was asking about 30 euros/gram. Do I really look like drug addict and stupid?

This was only the first day. I could continue forever about cold swimming pool, horrible gym etc, but I think this is enough. I think EU should not bailout the Portugal, they should be forced to sell all their country to pay their depts and then ship the people to the Mexico to leave the area to better people.

I have to admit: at first I thought you guys were a joke. A parody. A really well done Internet trolling, by a comedy site.

But then I realized you are way to consistent to be a joke. Apparently, you ARE real.

You worthless xenophobe, misinformed, ignorant, judgmental, alienated religious freaks are, indeed real. Wow. I’m speechless.

What you guys seem to don’t get is that contrary to what happens in the weirdoland/ redneck place you live in the USA, people in Portugal – in general - are educated. Not by the Bible! You would be amazed with the amount of information you can get reading books and studying. You would learn geography and realize Portugal and Spain are two different countries; that Mexico is not in Europe; that Portuguese and Spanish are two different languages and that these two countries once had an empire bigger than the oh-so-perfect USA.

Another curious thing you would probably understand is that a lot of Europeans speak ENGLISH and are exposed to American culture from an early age, with all the advantages and disadvantages that come along: we listen to American music, watch American TV Shows and movies, read American books and learn from an early age a lot of aspects of your society, what gives us a tremendous advantage over you. How?

That made me – and surely made a lot of my fellow Portuguese and other European citizens – realize you are nothing but a small minority of Baptist Talibans, probably related to Ned Flanders or some other character which critic surely is intelligible to most Americans, but not to you. I would never judge a country I respect and admire in some ways by the pretentious piffleed-up pathetic mormons you are.

Oh, and I live and study in the city this poor messed up girl can’t even pronounce – “Coimbra”. I guess that like America (USA, actually, since America – like you guys know (know?) is a continent) is not mentioned in the Bible. I can’t imagine what hilarious excuse you have to actually believe that God – assuming He exists – loves you more that any other country in the world. I can’t only predict serious daddy issues or something related.

To MisterM I can only say that you’ll not enjoy a holiday anywhere in the western civilization, since you lack obvious social skills. The only place I recommend for you to have a pleasant vacation is inside a giant Mall where you can eat saturated fat all day long with your obese kids so that God – or Satan, I don’t really care – can remove you and your KKK (or some other anachronic, hatred cult you guys belong to) friends from the face of the Earth. Every breath you take is a waste of resources.

Now I assume it’s Bible time – again – so I don’t want to get in the way of your meaningful lives, memorizing crap and taking it out of its context.
