I love that expression as one cannot use it (even if the listener does not understand at first) without the meaning being crystal clear. The closest that English comes is "Good grief", but it's so closely associated with Charlie Brown (don't get me wrong, I do like Peanuts) that people think you're quoting him and miss the point.

Quite, Sister. In fact, I'd say it's more than odd, I'd say it's offensive. Let's say Ray is right and Jesus spoke to him assuring him that his foul, soul-like-an-old-menstrual-rags (Isaiah 64:6) mother is in Heaven. This makes God a liar on several levels. For one thing, we must doubt the divine system of sin=damnation as a default to human existence as revealed to be Truth in the Holy Bible (John 3:18). If salvation is not necessary for entrance to Heaven, then why bother with faith (Ephesians 2:8)? What's the point of believing in the story of Jesus, born miraculously from a virgin mother, and Himself as Father, a Holy Ghost somehow equipped with physical seed? One wonders, was the Ghost invisible? Did Mary see physical seed floating around as an invisible ghost hovered over her? Did the Holy Ghost take on transparency and look like an adult Jesus? Did she feel any physical activity or did she simply have to trust the event took place and wait for her cycle to come? Why bother asking any of these questions at all if it doesn't matter?

Apparently one doesn't have to believe that Jesus was born under such extraordinary measures (Matthew 1:18), lived, temporarily died, lived again (1 Corinthians 15:12-13), floated up to the clouds (Acts 1:9), off into outer space without any pressure controlled suit or source of oxygen, miraculously sits next to Himself (Romans 8:34; John 10:30), in order prevent True Christians™ from ending up in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14). Why bother with faith at all if it's not important? The story is so patently unbelievable, it requires faith, for God in His Mercy wouldn't make it impossible for us! If one does not have faith, God says they will be tormented for eternity. Unless God is a liar and can't be trusted.

But if faith isn't important, then who heals us when we are sick (James 5:14-15)? Who blesses us with well timed circumstances and favorable events (2 Corinthians 9:6)? Who will write our names in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:15)? Why even bother with anything the Holy Bible says if we don't know which parts can be trusted and which parts are in error?

It's just all so confusing, and that's not charitable at all!

Basilisa I don't expect God to bend any rules. All I know is he spoke to me and said my mother was with him.

My dear, while I'm sure that God speaks often to Pastor Zeke () and other Godly men who actually KNOW and FOLLOW His Will, I sincerely doubt that God has spoken to you, a person who is completely ignorant of God's Rules (as clearly spelled out in the Bible - if you don't remember it, then you clearly aren't following it).

I'm afraid the voices you hear in your head are those of demons. dear.

The troubles in her life (like losing a 5 year child) drove her to alcoholism and mental illness. She was sick and he showed her His divine mercy.

...And according to His Divine rules, she's burning in .

You really need to read the Bible, dear. Also, there are some medications which will help to kill that demon voices in your head. Just ask for medication for schizophrenia.

I disagree (partially becuase I consider myself and atheist, cosmoslogist/astrophysicist, environmentalist, darwinst ect) And if god hates all those people, heaven (if it exists) will be a very boring place. All the people I admire (Scientists, artists, actors ect) will all be in hell, and the people I don't like (religios fundamentalists) will be in heaven. Very boring i deed
