I know it's early in the year, but can I nominate this post for the Landover Self-Awareness Fail Medal for 2014?
      2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

        Um, can you say "Inquisition"?

And, HELLO, your faith relies on the same book the Baptists do, the Bible. How is your inability to do what it says (judge people, criticize them, rebuke them, AND KILL THEM if they refuse to listen to your message of how much God loves them) their fault?

You might want to look into the history of your church, dear.

Start with Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus to get an idea as to why your fellow cultists are so eager to identify who does believe the Catholic lies, and who needs to believe the Catholic lies.

Without criticism, your church officials couldn't lovingly reap the profits from child slavery, adoption, or fprepubescent brothels free of charge for priests and lay men. These were all lovingly provided because children and teens were understood to be "fallen," "wayward," or in some way in "need" of what your church could offer. In other words, their experiences were criticized, and seen to be lacking.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Are you an atheist?? And yes we do use the same book, but not the same version of the book. You're off on that.

You're misinterpreting us, but I honestly am not surprised. I'm basically talking to a bunch of Liberal Baptists. And why in the world did you change my name to "Lauren the Drunken mick"??

There are a few differences, but all the stuff that tells you to please God by forcing others (on pain of alienation, torture, or even death) to believe exactly what you believe is still there in ALL Bible versions.

But you must be right. If you were wrong, God would tell you, wouldn't He?

In the Bible, God punishes people for not doing the right thing.
And I know you'll have a different opinion, since you don't believe in God, but I believe God exists and is all perfect and right. And no, if you think us Catholics hate atheists, you're crazy.

I'm not misinterpreting your cult, I'm seeing what you refuse to see, what I refused to see when I still believed their claims. Try looking into things logically and without the emotional attachment you have to the smells and bells of your service. Consider the possibility their claims are not credible, their actions are not justifiable. Just consider it.

Does He? Or do PEOPLE go around punishing people for not believing what they do (ie. doing the wrong thing)?

Then there are some natural disasters, which PEOPLE in the Bible ascribe to God.

Doesn't that sound exactly like PEOPLE doing what THEY think God wants them to?

...if you think us Catholics hate atheists, you're crazy.
So you offer more proof you can't even do what God tells you to as proof that you're right?

Well, you see, sweetie, God is so great that He does not want us to be guessing. He gave us all the answers. It's called the Holy Bible.

Read it, and then you'll understand what God tells you to do.

Just remember one little thing - before you start stoning people, check the local secular laws. God wants you to obey those, too.
God created fossils to test our faith.

Nothing (that's what being atheist means). But you claim to believe the Bible yet ignore it whenever you feel like. And the Bible itself warns against that:

Revelation 3:16 "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

Stop claiming to be Christian. It won't do you any good.

Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
