A Senate bill that would extend domestic partner benefits to LGBT federal workers was touted as a way to make the federal government more competitive with the private sector during a congressional hearing Thursday.

Why should taxpayers be forced to go along with a bunch of unelected liberal activist businesspeople in the private sector? In a truly deregulated, free-market, laissez-faire society, the private sector would have no right to do any such things.

I’m seriously worried here. If this goes ahead, ‘game theory’ predicts that two things will happen:
(i)a couple of heterosexual men, innocently sharing an apartment or house, will turn gay for the money
(ii)government workers will become gay and give even more excessive rights and favors to gays!

I cannot understand why anyone should want this outcome!

A "free market" doesn't mean we are free do what ever we want. There are other things to consider like people's feelings. Many people, like Jesus, are offended by sodomites. With so many Americans going Gault and joining the ranks of the unemployed does private industry seriously want to drive more of them away with a move like this.
