Most of the field workers were in the chicken coop, eating the noon day chicken bone soup and washing it down with some fresh water. Lunch was just about over. I never saw the coons move so fast to get outside!
Makes me think I should attach the John Deere and shake the place instead sounding the klaxon.

Only part of the roof fell in and I doubt there was anyone under it. They better get it fixed tonight as a hurricane is coming Friday. I do not want anyone playing sick on Saturday, there is work for them to do. I unfortunately cannot afford to run a charity plantation. God wants me to earn a profit for Him.

New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire allow gay marriage but they did not have an earthquake.

The article quoted in the OP states that NY and NH were two of the states affected — as well as DC, which sustained considerable damage and which also allows sodomites the special privilege of marriage.

The Lord also took the opportunity, while He was at it, to smite the Whiskypalians.

Let’s not forget that the hipsters in Brooklyn are officially –as of today– the first humans to ever experience and survive an earthquake (in much the same way that they invented chocolate, pickles, farming and cheap beer). Years from now you’ll see aging hipsters sitting around in dive bars talking about how heroic it was of them to have the presence of mind to turn on their camera phones and capture the horrors of a 5.8 magnitude quake so they could post it on their locally-crafted blogs while others will BRAG about how they managed to grab their entire Animal Collective vinyl collection on the way out the door and how the “shit they had to deal with” in the aftermath was on par with the post-liberation of Auschwitz.

We could all learn a thing or two from them when it comes to living through a natural disaster of this magnitude.

LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter said the temple's spires and facade were damaged during the earthquake.

UPDATE: Sometime between my writing of this post and 5 p.m., YouTube has removed this video due to its policy “prohibiting hate speech.” That did not sit well with this Jewish blogger, who said he thinks Levin is a “disgusting, loudmouthed bigot,” but also opposes censorship.
