Des Moines landowner Cornwallis Barnsdall has filed a lawsuit against Landover Baptist Church in order to regain land on which he claims LBC unlawfully expanded the platinum tither's lounge area on the NW side of the main tabernacle. As you all know, this ground is just south of the Angels Rain Car Wash on Deuteronomy Drive and east of the gravel parking area for visitors with special permits and the Children of God Playground on Nazarene Nook. This is partially inside the gated area of Freehold, but about 200 sq. ft. falls on the ungated land.
Barnsdall plans to build a Sonic Drive-In on this spot, which would create competition for the tither's lounge food sales and cause unsaved trash to be able to walk on Freehold land, something that has rarely happened in this decade.
Anyone with documentation or ownership papers from the Church is asked to provide that to me at their earliest convenience. Barnsdall claims to have a land deed to this section of the church property and so far I have been unable to locate anything to disprove his claim.
You may contact my office in Cumming at any time. The trial was set for February 9 but I entered an appearance requesting continuance until March 10. The Court granted this request.
