I just returned for a quick trip to Mitchell, South Dakota. The Mayor over there, Bobby Everson, invited me to see the latest Corn Palace Art display. He said if there are young people in Freehold who would like to be artists but refuse to paint nudes they are welcome in Mitchell.

The Corn Palace is unique in the entire world. It is a large building covered with ears of corn.

I'm here to say that if you want to see really creative abstract art, head to Mitchell. Each year they create new works so young people can learn how to make spectacular art from ears of corn. The Corn Palace will not tolerate any art that is sexually suggestive or obscene. It passes the Christian test of good art. Once a young person learns this skill he/she is off to the big cities and the big time art world.

I'd like to point out that art lovers on their way to Mitchell can stop off at nearby Strawberry Point, Iowa - a mere 2 hr drive or 4 hr + 5 minutes round trip. European modern artists think they're so clever with their cubism and blue periods but let's see them create something like THIS - 15ft tall and painted fiberglass.

I'd like to point out that art lovers on their way to Mitchell can stop off at nearby Strawberry Point, Iowa - a mere 2 hr drive or 4 hr + 5 minutes round trip. Europe has been left behind in art. One of the early signs the Middle West in the U.S. was destined to dominate the art world was this pelican in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

The Christ of the Ozarks is another pilgrimage site for Christian family day trips. Located outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the 65.5 foot tall Jesus statue is the Godliest piece of monumental artwork in North America. Erected by True Christian™ Pastor Gerald L. K. Smith, the Christ of the Ozarks also stages a passion play on certain nights. I have visited with the Lukes clan a couple times and it didn't disappoint.

Mayor Brent Frazer told me a few years ago it is ten feet tall. To enter public art contests it needed to be the largest pelican in the U. S. You will not find a bigger one in the "art centers" of New York City or San Francisco.

My, my; these are some very lovely works of art, and I do thank you all for showing them to us. What I like most about them, is how they show the creative nature that the has given to so many people. It is my prayer that those artists will continue to use their talents wisely, to glorify Almighty .

Matthew 25:15 "And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey."

The artwork in the photo below, from some remote area of Canada, also reminds me of and Creation. And, it really shows what we already know: that since created the first chicken, there is no need for the "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" debate.

Ugh that is not art at all. You're right to flag this one Sister Mitza. Everyone pay attention, this is not art. It's important you known the difference - just like with idols and false idols.

One wonders if this is a trend of some sort, dear Sister Basilissa. One time when I was visiting Agatha (my sister) in that bound Canada, she pointed out something similar to me. You shall see it here in this short video clip below. How on Earth did that truck get up there, at such a high position, and then to go crashing through the outer wall, but not falling to the ground below? And, why did they not remove it and repair the wall?

At least the concept of a truck or a car, (or even a shark) moving at high speed and crashing through a building fits in with the way Our Lord ordered the Universe.

But a carrot? Since when did Jesus look the other way and let giant root vegetables soar through the air? Let us not forget that the first farmer (and murderer), Cain, thought that he could earn God's favor with produce.

Genesis 4:3-5

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.


As we can see, a fat lot of good that did for Cain. Because The Lord wanted the actual fat. I believe our esteemed Brother Cranky Old Man once provided an excellent sermon on the very subject of God preferring meat to vegetables.

Returning to the subject at hand, whatever demon hand was responsible for casting a carrot through a brick building is not a force that I wish to see at work in my neighborhood. The literal elevation of a carrot is in direct opposition to Biblical codes of conduct. Now, if it were a burger being held aloft, that would be another consideration altogether.

That is a monster, Mr. Mayor. True greatness. Here's another one from Iowa: Coffee Pot Water Tower (Stanton, Iowa). Sorry I don't have the stats for it.
