11-Year-Old Gives Birth on Wedding Day

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - An 11-year old Bulgarian girl gave birth to a baby girl after going into labor on her wedding day, according to The Daily Telegraph .

Kordeza Zhelyazkova became pregnant two weeks before her 11th birthday and was set to marry boyfriend Jeliazko Dimitrov, 19, when she went into labor during her three-day wedding last month.

"I'm not going to play with toys any more -- I have a new toy now," Zhelyazkova told Britain's News of the World newspaper .

The bride-to-be was still wearing her wedding dress and tiara when she arrived at a hospital to give birth to daughter Violeta.

She admitted that she had not known about sex education or even how to get pregnant. She presumed she was putting on weight from eating too many burgers until her grandmother suggested she was pregnant.

Zhelyazkova met Dimitrov in the playground of her school when he rescued her from bullies. Their daughter was conceived within a week. Dimitrov now faces up to six years in jail for having sex with a minor.

It is not uncommon for Bulgarian girls to become pregnant while in their teens. Most brides in the country are between 14 and 17 years of age.

Zhelyazkova is believed to be the youngest person in the world to give birth , although some say a 5-year-old girl in Peru gave birth to a baby boy in 1939.

I need some guidance Pastor. Shouldn't she have been married before giving birth, or rather er, excuse me, cough cough, "conceiving"?

And she seems to be an example for good, at least getting married, than your average British preteen!

After the device displayed two blue lines, indicating she was pregnant, she pleaded with a female relative to break the news to her mother. The girl, who has been suspended from her first year of secondary school for fighting, said: "I was paranoid about what my mum was going to say and just frightened about being pregnant too.
"I knew straight away that I couldn't have an abortion because that's something I don't believe in.
"I was upset and so was my mum, especially as she'd just had my wee brother. We had a big argument and I ended up locking myself in my room and running away to a friend's.
"It was really hard but it's brought me and my mum closer, which is good. I knew my mum would stand by me no matter what, but I told her straight away I was going to keep the baby.
"The social worker suggested I got rid of it but I'd never do that."

Well, at least she kept it, I guess God works in ways we'll never understand until he wants us to.!!

I don't think that girl is 11. She looks at least 18 years old. Considering she's a gypsy, and we all know gypsies are liars, it's probably safe to assume they concocted that story for riches and fame. I wouldn't put it past them.
