I just spent 20 minute on the phone trying to console my friend Betty Silversmith about her car tires, all four of which were slashed last night.
This is a real shame.
Did anyone else have their tires slashed last night?
This is a real shame.

Freehold target for tire slashers!
Vandals slashed the tires of more than 80 cars in one night in Freehold, IA. Residents in several streets in the East Gate subdivision woke to find their cars had been targeted by the thug.
The vehicles were parked in Patriarch Lane, Psalm 28 Road, Enoch Street, Elijah Road, Isiah Street and Nehemiah Street.
One victim, Carroll Bank, was left stranded and late for visiting his wife at Freehold General Hospital. He found that his Ford Explorer parked outside his home in Enoch Street had had both its passenger side tires slashed. Mr. Bank was forced to cal AAA to have his car towed to J&B Tire on Industrial road.
Residents are continuing to report incidents to the police, with the number of damaged vehicles rising. Police officers are now checking security camera footage from the area in an attempt to identify suspects, however the crimes occurred at night and the police aren't hopeful about getting clear pictures of the perpetrator.

Mr. Bank said: "I visit my wife everyday. She was taken into hospital in December with Cancer. All her major organs failed and she wasn't expected to live the night. She spent a month on a life support machine, hospital doctors think it's a miracle that she's alive. She's now making steady progress.
My local garage is replacing the tires, I don't know what it will cost - but they'll be expensive. If they don't fix the tires today I would have had to get a taxi to Freehold General, which would be about $30 each way."
Ofc. Richards: "It's the sheer number of tires that have been slashed - it could be hundreds. We (The police) need to find out who's doing it and put a stop to it."
