This may not seem like it has relevance to this thread, but I promise it does, so bear with me.
I used to be Christian. I used to do all the things a good little boy used to do: I went to Church, I said my prayers. I sung for the Lord, I never argued with my parents. I decried homosexuality and swore I would stay pure till marriage. But recently I have been drifting. I’m in my second year of university now (college for you Yanks) and have found myself praying less and less, skipping Church more and more often. Almost to the point where I could no longer call myself Christian.



So thank you, thank you all. I’ve been reading this forum, hearing what you have to say, and it has made me hope. Made me hope that there is a God, a god of the Bible. Hope that he is a loving God and a patient God. Because of you people, your never ending crusade and your speeches and sermons, I hope that there is a God of judgement. A God of judgement that rains it down on everyone here, and makes you suffer as you have made others suffer. NO! STOP! You, yes you! You who’s already leaping for his mouse, already about to pound at his keyboard before you’ve even heard what I have to say. You people aren’t Christians. You don’t speak for a loving God.


I still believe in a God, but I do not believe in your God. My God is a God of love and mercy, a God who wants the best for all creation. Your God is a God of spite and hate. A pathetic little God for pathetic little men. Insecure men, men who can’t compete with the strongest, men who can’t add or subtract, men who can’t keep their wives satisfied. You sit and insult and spew hatred and bile, thinking yourselves better than those who’s feet you’re not even worthy to lick. How can I say such things? I am a lowly servant of the almighty. A fornicator, a liar, a mocker and a sinner. If it helps you to label me, helps you to ignore my words then go ahead. I don’t care. I said I was at university, so I’ll elaborate. I study physics, specifically physics with Astrophysics. What does this mean? That I’m about to blind you with science? Tell you that my machines and chemicals disprove your God? No. I believe that science is what makes God proudest. How? God made us the most intelligent creatures on the planet. He gave us brains that could outsmart any animal on the planet. What are we to do with these brains? Fill them with slurs? Stuff them with words that allow us to ignore, to shut out, to condemn and despise? Or did he give us these brains to explore and grow? To seek out new wonders, to help us marvel at this new wonderful universe that he made for us? This is for us! All of it! Every galaxy, every nebula. Every rock, plant, atom, electron, wave, field, equation, flower, animals, meteor, material, liquid, solid, particle and cell. All of it is ours, ours to do with as we wish. And I wish to study. You see the Stars in the sky? I can name them. I can tell you how far away they are, their age, colour, temperature, and where they will be in 10, 20, 1000 or a million years. The atoms in your body? I can tell you what they are, what they are made of, how they fit together and how they were forged in the furnace of a Star 20000 times greater than are own to come together and make you.


And I am now talking to you. You who is still reading this. The worst of you are already writing replies, using clever language tricks and the worst insults they know to come back at me with what they can. But I don’t care. I know my God looks at what I do with pride. But you are still reading. Maybe to hear me out before you disagree. And so back to this thread.I love my girlfriend. I am no longer “pure” as you call it. But we waited, waited until we’d been together a year before we gave ourselves to each other. It was amazing, and it has been amazing every time since. I got better, we practiced, and now she’s the one that asks me to have sex! I don’t say this to brag, but to tell you that I love her. Love her with all my heart. I would never ignore her, never subjugate her, never insult or lay a finger on her. She lights up my world and is a joy just to be around. His sovereignty is without limit, dear, and He will judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). Dear, what you believe in is merely a self projection of you. Think about it - how likely is it that a god of the universe, the creator of all that is seen and all that is unseen, has been known and worshiped throughout the ages, but everyone but you has mistaken his true nature. Coincidence? I think not. I think you simply have anthropomorphized your own conscience onto an otherwise inanimate concept - "goodness." Our God, on the other hand, is the actual God of the Bible. If God exists and the Holy Bible is wrong, that makes you the pope - the vicar of Christ on earth, the one through whom Jesus speaks vicariously. That's silly. If they all fit together and just happened to have made us, then there's no room for God in your puzzle. Why do you even pretend? First, I'd ask you to not talk about my girlfriend like that, I already said how much she means to me. Also, I gave myself to her as well, what does that make me. Men lose virginity as well you know.

Lastly, how can you go along with this? Like, I get all the men on here. They don't have anything to offer anyone, no charm or likability or intelligence, so when this thing comes along that tells them they’re better than everyone else they’ll jump at it. They get power without having to work for it or do anything to earn it. But you, and the other women, how can you let yourselves get trodden on like this?


I can answer that myself, because you’ve been told it. From the moment you were born, all you’ve been told is that you’re second class, you’re below men, you’re property, you’re nothing. Women are more valuable than men to be honest. And I say this as a man. Sure, men are physically stronger due to ratio of fat/muscle. But women are the life carriers and are a lot more precious. And being a scientist I can back up what I say, which I am about to do:


There are two villages on opposite sides of the world. One has one man and 20 women, one has one women and 20 men. Which one will survive?


At the end of the day you can argue what it says in the Bible, but if all your women die out then you’re not living much longer. Women are SO much more valuable than men. Don’t let yourself be treated like this.

You don't know how it's supposed to be, though, do you? You have nothing more than your own opinion. What happens when that opinion differs from someone else's opinion? Who's to say whose opinion is the correct one? We us the Holy Bible, as God's Perfect Word to guide us. What do you use other than what you already think? It's circular reasoning, a logical fallacy that women like me don't fall into. Look, I don't particularly enjoy the physical sensation of labor, but having given birth many, many times, I can tell you from personal experience that just because I don't like something, doesn't mean it isn't reality. Just like physical labor, submission is a labor of love. Only these "birth pains" produce an eternity of joy - praising Jesus for ever and ever!

Men are the ones who are meant to fight over the affections of women. You can lose all but one man but still repopulate. You’ve said that you’ve given birth multiple times. How many more could you do it? Enough to keep the human race going? I doubt it. But a man could. One. That’s how valuable men are, there’s 2.9 billion TOO MANY of us. But every woman is needed. Every single one, including you. You are needed, you are special, you are the one that gives life. Women are much more important than men.
