I think that we should summarize this thread. We have 1800 posts in this thread and all I see are people saying the following:

1) "You guys condone rape!" No we don't and if you read the thread you would see that clearly. Rape is awful. The Bible clearly commands us to follow secular law. As such the rapist, if caught by the police, should be punished under the applicable state or federal statutes. We just also advocate the FULL BIBLICAL punishment that God laid out plainly in the Bible: Marry the victim.

2) "You guys will burn in Hell because God hates you!" The not-so-subtle inconsistency here is jaw-dropping. They obviously THINK that they are Chirstian, yet they are so enraged by someone simply following God's will as laid out plainly in the Bible. Read the statement again. They believe the Bible when it says there is a God. ("God hates you") They believe the Bible when it says that there is a Hell. ("You guys will burn in Hell") They believe that God hates people. ("God hates you") They believe that God actively sends people he hates to Hell. (The whole statement.) They believe ALL of those things. They just don't believe in Deut. 22: 28-29. WHY? Can they give us a logically consistent answer? They can't! They agree with scripture when it suits them and then they turn their back on it when it makes them feel uncomfortable. I seriously don't know how people can walk around with THAT much cognitive dissonance floating around in their brains and not just drop dead from cranial meltdown.

3) "You guys twist scripture!" This is the best of them all. I have asked this before in this thread and I will ask again... Exactly how are we twisting the following scripture:

Deut. 22:

28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

NO ONE has answered this question. When I ask it of atheists, they just shout that the whole Bible is made up fairy tales and that this passage somehow proves how outdated the whole book is. When I ask it directly of a supposed Christian, they just stop posting, never to be heard of again. Presumably they opened the Bibel for the first times in thier lives and said, "Gee...those good folk at Landover Baptist were RIGHT! It DOES say that, clear as day! Thank God I found LBC. I have been saved!"

If ANYONE can explain how we are twisting this scripture to mean something that it doesn't I will pay THEM 50 shekels!
