Well, I was just wondering why the first post said Jesus cannot be your friend. And here is what Jesus was commanding them, by the way:

John 15: 11-15"I've told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father.

16"You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
17"But remember the root command: Love one another.

Maybe if you'd use the KJV, things would be a little clearer.

John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Where did the original post say JESUS cannot be our friend?

The original post is only a reminder that no matter how closely we walk with GOD, we are still subject to Him and are still bound to His rules and regulations.

                Okay.

                Here it goes:

                John Chapter 15:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (JESUS says here that He is the root of all great things, the true vine.)

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.(JESUS says that every branch, that is follower of CHRIST, who does not yield good fruit is purged by GOD. Imagine worthless twigs being pruned from a tree and cast into a fire.)

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (Only through JESUS can we be redeemed and serve a worthwhile purpose in life.)

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(JESUS reiterates the meaning of His brilliant tale for mormons and slow people.)

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
(If you do not obey CHRIST by subjecting yourself to His word and will to bring fourth good works and new converts, He will separate Himself from you and you are cast into FIRE!)

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Here the Bible reaffirms itself that all things are possible through GOD, and we shall be rewarded if we are faithful and dutiful. The reward is not a free gift, as it has been portrayed to be by false Christians.)

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (It is important that we reflect positively on GOD, because He is the one holding the pruning shears!)

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.(IF you keep His commandments, THEN you shall have CHRIST's love! Obedience is the only way that JESUS perceives our love. All other gestures are meaningless. In the previous chapter, at John 14:15, JESUS says if we love Him we will obey Him.)

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (JESUS wants us to be happy! That is why He'd hate to see us do something He told us not to do, because then He'd have to punish us and make us miserable.)

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (And don't you forget it.)

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (Again, you are a friend to JESUS only if you do every single little thing He demands! There really is no greater love, amen?)

15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. (We have already established that a true friend is someone who subjects themselves entirely to the will and whims of their master, and here He reminds us that we're really fortunate that He would bless us with His Lordship.)

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (JESUS has picked His disciples to be His friends who do everything He commands in exchange for being rewarded with things we might as for, like good health and not being set on fire for all eternity.)

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. (It may seem odd that you are commanded to love someone, because you might think that love is a feeling beyond our ability to choose or not choose. Nonsense! If you try hard enough, you can love anyone, especially with the threat of eternal damnation for those who do not.)

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (We are again proven right by the world's hatred for those of us who carry forward ancient values and traditions like child stoning.)

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (Here JESUS refers to us as "servants" again. You don't seem to understand that as far as JESUS is concerned, there is no difference between "friend" and "servant.")

21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. (JESUS explains that once He has told you that you are a vile sinner, you really have no excuse not to repent and be his friend.)

25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

                Any questions?

Joh:13:13: Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Joh:20:16: Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

That last verse was said just after Jesus rose from being temporarily dead! Do you think that in His state of perfect knowledge and having been dead, he would not have corrected her? Yet He did not.

It is obvious that John 15:11-15 means "Just at the moment you can call me friend, although when I have been dead a bit and come back, it'll be more of the same - Master Servant as it were..."

You can easily see that Jesus' love is conditional upon you serving Him. He is not a branch of you. He is the vine and you are merely a branch that might be burnt if you don't understand this principle.

In your case, it's 100% guaranteed.

Allow me to present more of my case.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

You are the slave and God is the Master.

                    Luke 4:8
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Notice Jesus said serve. He didn't say become best pals with!
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I apologize for not getting to you on this sooner. The dead are unknowing until the Resurrection foretold in Revelation.

                      Ecclesiastes 9:5

                      For the living
know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

The dead cannot be "alive in Heaven" at present, if they also "know not any thing".

Therefore, as explained in Revelation 20-21, the Saved will be resurrected first, then the damned. The Saved will spend eternity praising God for being Perfect, and the damned will spend eternity being burned alive in God's Lake of Fire.

So God loved THEM. That doesn't mean He loves EVERYBODY.

Here is proof that God doesn't love everybody. In fact, He HATES SOME.

Leviticus 20:23 - "And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them."

Leviticus 26:30 - "And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you."

Deuteronomy 32:19 - "And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters."

Psalm 5:5 - "The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity."

Psalm 5:6 - "Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man."

Psalm 10:3 - "For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth."

Psalm 11:5 - "The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth."

Psalm 53:5 - "There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them."

Psalm 73:20 - "As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image."

Psalm 78:59 - "When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:"

Psalm 106:40 - "Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance."

Proverbs 6:16-19 - "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."

Proverbs 22:14 - "The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein."

Lamentations 2:6 - "And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest."

Hosea 9:15 - "All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters."

Zechariah 11:8 - "Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me."

Malachi 1:3 - "And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness."

Romans 9:13 - "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

Hello sir, I am sorry to prove you wrong, however, I did not state that god loves all. I stated he loves us. He may only love us on this forum.
